WELCOME! To answer your last question, I'm sure you'll find that Airsoft Allies is one of the best online airsoft communities EVER. We're all here to help and here to answer any questions you might have.

You're going into an awesome sport/hobby that will have you spending every weekend playing it. But be careful, airsoft is not for everyone, so try to get an entry-level set up if you don't have one already, and see if this game is truly for you.

It's as expensive as you want. You could spend 50 bucks on a gun and just buy ammo, running around in your regular street clothes. I don't recommend that of course, but it's possible. If you want, you could spend $5,000 on your gear and be set for life. For your first gun and gear, however, you will probably want to spend around $100 - $150 for a gun and maybe buy a vest of some sort for around $50, and maybe a camouflaged uniform. It's completely your choice though. Remember, the gear doesn't make the player!

Do you have any friends that are into airsoft? If you do, you could ask them for advice, or even better, come here!

Once again, welcome. Feel free to PM any of us if you need to as well as ask/answer questions here on the forums. Good luck getting into the sport, and have fun!

P.S.
We'd appreciate it if you read the site rules which can be found [here].

Welcome to the Safest Airsoft forum on the Interwebz. We have our nice little niche out of the mainstream forum's eyes so we don't get immature people spamming the site with flaming rants, so feel free to post anything you want about airsoft granted it hasn't already been asked or another member can help you. don't forget we have a Search option.

Unleash torrents of plastic on unsuspecting foes. (ie: Kick butt and take names...OORAH?)

How expensive is this sport?
Cheaper than paintball...thats all that matters Very Happy We're backed by a massive surplus community that allows us to purchase military-grade gear/clothing at a premium. BB's run about $10 for 15,000-20,000. AEG's run from $100-$4,000. Events/OPs range from $5-$200 depending on size and cost to run them.

How is the airsoft community?
Oh man, the online airsoft community is massive.
Forums every which way, streaming radio channels, and live web shows. We're here to stay.

Where have you been?!?!? Hahaha. Mercc is right though, we're a pretty kicked back and controlled forum. Low member count FTW.

Welcome to the Forum, and now for my 2 cents.

Your first question `` What am I getting into ? ´´

You are entering the Purple Side, there is no Light, No Dark, no Middle Shades of Gray, you are entering a world of Myth and Legend, an ever growing Enigma, wrapped in a puzzle, concealed as a question, but be not afraid, for if you are worthy and can follow the 3 basic fundimental Laws of Airsoft, then your time within the Community will not only be rich and fullfilling, it will bring you into contact with others just as worthy, it will lead to friendships through out the world, new adventures, experiances and test your moral fortitude. Are you ready to enter our world ??

Question 2 `` How expensive is this sport? ´´

Answer has been given, take this pearl of wisdom from drummerboy, go forth and spend to your hearts content ( or until the bank account is overdrawn ).

Question 3 `` How is the airsoft community? ´´

We are a Brotherhood sworn to secrecy, praying for the day when the `` New ´´ player enters our sights, so that we may deliver as much pain and suffering as he/she can withstand, then, and only then will they even be considered as a worthy candidate to enter our world, and after many trials and tribulations, when they are presented before the council, approached the alter with reverance and awe, humble both in nature and deed, and ask for the final Test, then you will receive your Answer, How is the Airsoft Community.
