| Any of you heard about it? Basically "default" teams/organizations that have strict rules on replica performance. So if you had an AK, it would have to meet these certain requirements for ROF and FPS...same with any other style replica. EX: M4 = 350 FPS, maximum of 17 RPS. AK = 350 FPS, maximum of 15 RPS. Note: Made-up examples...lol.I'm starting to go that route I think...kinda getting sick of people running 30+ BPS 450 FPS KWA's Anyone have input or experiences with "default airsoft"? 'It goes by different names...just thats what I heard it called by some people. | |

| Eh first i've heard of it been i mostly play outlaw where gun rules are laxer then at fields.
It sounds like a good thing though, especially the limit of ROF. High ROF is something that belongs in paintball in my opinion not airsoft. Running a 9.6 on my KWA gives me more then enough ROF as it is and keeps people from getting overwhelmed by such a hard hitting gun.

| Honestly I would limit BPS to the actual BPS of the real-steel version if I were to own and operate a "default" field. And of course keep the FPS limits reasonable and make the experience well suited for all. No serious geardos...sometimes want the FPS so they can feel their hits, or get other geardos out. Definitely look into certain restriction as to what you can carry onto the field. And restrictions on camoflauge.
IMHO it would be really hard to enforce the rules and would just turn away the players that have the money to support your field every weekend. I say survival of the fittest.

| yeah, think of how that would affect CQB fields. I know the CQB field we used to have would have mutinied with those sort of regs. We had replicas firing 30 and 40 rounds per second in there. | |

Jesus, ya...and ten bucks says those guys don't know what if feels like to get hit with 40+ bb's at the same time...or else they wouldnt be running guns that hot. I think ROF should be regulated the same way FPS is.

| No, they know, they're always the ones who have ten plus replicas aimed at them at any given time.
My MP5K runs about 40 rounds a second, I know what it feels like. Mind you, it is just a sidearm, but...

| Nah ive never heard of the "default" rules... I personally think its retarded. Its like why make us be practicly the same... I know its not like making us look the same but why should a 25 year old airsofter of 10+ years who does this for fun who has a KWA or a VFC or even a SYSTEMA have to not use it because of some 10 year old pu.ssy crying to his mommy that "sum older guy shot me and hurt me..." They don't make these rules because of safety. They make them because little pu..ssy a.ss kids who cry to their mommy because they suck at airsofting and they r just getting started. "Watch your language" i have scars on my left arm from when i was 9 when i went airsofting at SC for my first time and let me tell you. I got shot up SO "Watch your language" BAD and i BLED for the love of this sport but you know what, What doesnt kill you only makes you Stronger. | |

| Actually most of these guys want to make it as realistic as possible. By limiting an M4 to 350 and 800RPM you there by create a more realistic replica. This also leaves room for other perks. M4=350FPS, 150ft EED (effective engagement distance). This may transfer into 300-500 yards in real steel terms.
M14=450FPS EED of 250 feet.
The example above shows the difference in capability of certain rifles. This keeps it more MilSim by limiting certain rifles to certain roles. This undoubtedly limits the number of certain rifles on the field. Using the example there should be about nine M4's per one M14(or other DMR), if the team was trying to replicate a standard infantry squad in the US Army.
The idea floated around my area for awhile. Personally I liked it, but I think it would be to hard to use throughout Ohio. We have allot of MilSim games, but allot of open plays as well. As a community we could not come to terms that if we launched a rule set like this, we would deter the MilSim community from growing.
