With all due respect, I'm going to have to call "Bullshit" on this one. The Masada is waaaay to expensive to issue to each and every soldier, Marine, whatever. How much do they cost to produce? An assload, compared to the M16/4. That's kind of why I want to see the M14 put back into widespread service. There's literally tons of M14s in warehouses throughout America's military bases. The rifle was taken out of service because it did it's job too well for Pete's sake! There's no two ways around it, the M14 was a weapon that would have shook the world if it had had the chance. I applaud the Coast Guard for continuing to use it. I'm going to object and call it government contract with Magpul to standard issue their rifles for a set number of years...therefore guaranteeing magpul its money for its stock. Besides they made the ACR just for that reason if I don't recall the episode of future weapons that featured it.
^0^ nom on that While yes, that may be possible, I think it's unlikely. Besides, the way the US Government is in Debt right now, Magpul will be waiting a loooong time to get their money. "Watch your language", we don't even have enough money to put paper towels in our school restrooms. @Sno I'd imagine they would be the only ones to use the Masada, and that's if any sort of deal is made.

Coming from someone non combat I would like to see a 6.8 or even the 6.5 brought back to the spectrum. IMO the 7,62 penetrates to much for the environments that we're going to be dealing with in the upcoming years. I'm talking about mostly middle eastern urban areas, maybe somethings in South America.... The 6.8 would give the soldier that extra punch and a little more effective range without the worry that hes going to kill the child behind the wall of the insurgent. I think the 7.62 or even the .338 Lapua (if it gets cheaper) would be great for a SASS/DMR platform, but its overkill for every soldier on the battlefield.
Again this is all from someone non combat/non military(for now)t...

Ouch... Well, the thing that sucks about here is the fact we're a brand new school. This is the school's first year. We don't even have seniors yet. They're saying they won't have enough money to buy any paper products by next school year. Sometimes government just amazes me.
