| If you really needed one for under $20 you could try out some army surplus stores. Do you know of any around you?

| Try the following sites: www.ebaybanned.com <- i've used it, good service but ships from China so take shipping time into account www.cheeperthandirt.com <- hear good things about them Both have some really cheap copies of your favorite vests. Most are a little more than $20, but belive me the extra money is worth it. | |

| Hey STAT just to warn you if all you say is COOL, you need to put more because you can get in trouble for putting only one or two words. Try expressing all you know about the topic. This will help you,(possibly) me, this airsoft forum, and anyone browsing this site. | |

| I think you could pick up a good chest rig for under $20 dollars, but nat a real vest. I personally own the cross draw vest previously recommended and it is great!! it is very light and has just enough pockets for everything I need, unfortunately, I got one without the radio pouch and was a little disappointed, but i switch up the shoulder I use every now and then. I am somewhat ambidextrous, I shoot left handed or right handed, I write left handed and I shoot My bow right handed. ( not allowed to rifle hunt under my dads roof.) | |

| STAT, just hit on one of the most important aspects of choosing your gear, Everybody is more concerned with how ``COOL´´ this or that vest looks, or how they present themselves on the playing field, thy forget that they should be looking at what they need thier Equipment for, and how it should work. Nothing will destroy a good day of playing more than having equipment that is uncomfortable, improperly fitted or just too much. A few rules of thumb to keep in mind when thinking about choosing your Equipment, 1, What can I afford ? A MOLLIE chest rig can be picked up relativly cheap, 60$, but when you start adding the Pockets, Day Packs, Magazine pouches, First Aid kit and so on and on and on. Your orginal 60$ investment is now worth more than the Rifle that you are dragging around with you, the reason I say Dragging, you have built up your vest, you really look ``COOL´´ but the darn thing now weighs 40 pounds, and you are really sucking wind after your first short engagement. 2, Just like Stat said, What is your style of Play ? Are you an offensive player, always looking for the action, provoking the Fight, Taking the Fight to your Opponent ? or Are you the Deffensive player ? The player that knows where he/she is and is ready for the mauever element to come to his/her location, the player that builds a devensive plan in Depth with the rest of the Team ? Depending on your style of play, you are looking at some serious changes in the type of Equipment than you wear, if you are always on the move, fast position changes, moving in the Bounding Overwatch, a Heavy load out is going to ruin your day real fast, and the same goes for the Defensive player that has to small a load out. 3, What is your level of Phsical Fitness ? Can you wear the gear, and drag the weight around with you the entire Day ? 4, What is the reason behind your equipment ? What function does it have ? What function must it serve ? If you just need something to carry your extra magazines, water, and food in, a simple TA-50 load out with a good Camel Back would more that suit your needs, if you are out on the field for longer periods of time, being more self reliant, you should adjust accordingly, a Good Load out with enough Pockets to suit you needs but not to overload. We choose our weapons, based on what we like, or what position we play, but when choosing your Kit, you should be investing alot more time into thinking about how it should work for you, not against you, there are enough players on the Field doing that !!! | |

| Mind if I add, going to the actual store and trying on a vest or test playing with it can help you make your decision when it comes to comfort ranges and your style of play.
Those of us who do use back packs are going to be your engineers/spotters/defense(MAYBE). rifle men and CQB experts really need the lighter load outs because you are the most mobile.
Slob, who (as in role) would you categorize as a defense, mobile, and provoking characters? This may have a greater effect into how much gear is needed. If I recall we have another thread brushing close to this topid "What do you carry" in General Sniper
I agree with slob about the whole practicality over coolness. airsoft is a sport, not a fashion show. I think we pretty much summed it up though. | |
