| ok, i know it might turn out horrible, but i was thinking of gutting a $40.00 m249 spring version so i can pop in a gearbox and some other aeg internals, what specifically would i have to do to make it atleast half assed decent? and accept m249 box mags | |

| Eh you may be able to do a cut and chop job to get it to fit. However, by the time you're bought all the parts you might as well have just saved a up a little more and gotten a regular AEG model which would be better in the first place. | |

| I think this project, if possible, would cost more than a storebought SAW | |

| it would be very difficult, it wouldn't only be the process of putting in a gearbox etc, but you also have to find some way to anchor those parts (you don't want a gearbox jiggling around everywhere otherwise it won't work) also as stated compatibility issues, it may cost more it may cost less, but in the end i think the price will be about the same, so i would rather safe my self the frustration and hard work on something that might not quite work out as planned, and save up and just buy the sure thing that will be guaranteed to work | |
