Our company's spread out between two schools. One is brand new and is doing a trial sort of thing, so our platoon number depends on who you ask. The Cadet Sergeant Major says I'm in 2nd, the SMI has "no f**king idea, ask the Company Commander", and the Cadet Company Commander says I'm in 7th. Haha, it's a cluster f**k, but I love every second of it! | |

| Okay, cool cool. Do you happen to be a Squad Leader or....? Most C/SGTs in my company are either Platoon Sergeants or Squad Leaders. At least at the other school that is.

| Sometimes it really depends on the situation because SSGTs get the SL position. If anything im normally a TL. Its only cuz MSIII's or Juniors have to do more leadership roles to prepare for LDAC. Ive done it before but that was in the field. In airsoft Ive lead a lot more than in ROTC. And not just at EAG warsaw | |

| Okay, I see. Yeah, in my part of the company (I'm at the new school), we have a bit of a shortage of C/SGTs and the like. So, lucky for us First Year Pukes, we get a little bit of leadership time every once in a while. I was a Squad Leader for a couple months, which was a helluva lot of fun. I definitely enjoyed it. Now I'm the Assistant Squad Leader, which basically means helping the new SL and teaching him what to do. And when he's sick, I become acting SL. Oohrah! | |

| in the military TL's are normaly SGTs while the SL is a SSGT and the Platoon SGT is normally a SFC. What do u guys do in JROTC anyways? I never had the opportunity to do it. I did Boy Scouts instead and in one position had over 3k people under my command lol So far ive learned more from doing scouts in a military area than in rotc lol | |

| We basically just learn about the Marine Corps, basic leadership skills, do security at school football games, PT, have inspection, do fundraisers, that sort of thing. We also do things like working parking lots at the world famous Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, work at Golden Corral (please don't ask, haha), and "Watch your language" to District about not having the storage space and rifle range they promised us. We also have five different teams that compete with other units; Armed Drill, Unarmed Drill, Color Guard, PT Team, and Rifle Marksmanship Team. I'm a member of the Rifle Marksmanship Team. It's a fun program, I definitely recommend it. I guess the worst thing about the program, though, are the kids whose parents enrolled them to try to "straighten them out". Those are generally the kids showing up to class ten minutes late, smelling like pot, and high as a goddamn kite. We've lost two kids this year to alcohol, one to pregnancy, one to Juvie, and one because he told the Marine Instructor to "suck it". | |

| Tell me about it. I wish we did more MCMAP sort of things during PT, but we've already got San Fransicko screaming that the program is turning kids into killers. I haven't gone airsofting in a couple months now..... must..... shoot.... something...... | |

| lol kids into killers huh? I don't think a JROTC program would turn kids into killers. You gotta be a killer to begin with to become one -philosophy!- lol | |

| Yeah, those cheesedicks over in San Fransicko actually had the program - Army, Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy - banned from their school systems on the grounds that it was "militarizing the children and turning them in to bloodthirsty killers". It was banned for nearly two years, I believe, before one of them pulled the Prius over and decided to give the program another chance. I've been told none of those programs have marksmanship or armed drill teams, though. It's simply amazing..... | |
