| I lost my gas mask It's a 1980's German riot mask. Cool piece of history, but now it's hiding from me | |

| Buy some CS gas, pull the pin, drop it at your feet, put the mask on, pray. | |

| My dad has a Desert storm era mask......really cool at bonfires when you can stand in the smoke and not choke. I wouldn't play AS in a gas mask though.....too restricting. | |

| I'm actually thinking of selling this and picking up a more modern mask. Or maybe put some more money into my 'Quarantined' rig. I've played with this mask on once, its doesnt restrict breathing really...just your vision. Make sure when buying a mask that the filter is on the left side...or you wont be able to shoulder your replica. | |

Wait until someone burns bacon and then put it on and see if you can smell the smoke

My MCU-2A/P has great vision, they'll run you about $150-$200 though.

| Ya thats a bit much for me. I'm trying to find a full chem suit with hood and all...preferably in drab. Kinda want a look from the movie ''Outbreak''...where the doctor dudes and dudettes wore the full suit, just in a less NEON YELLOW color | |

| Actually got it from a gag-gift store in NorCal on my way to a private OP last summer. Cost me $10...I don't think they knew what they were selling me. Came with two filters, powder of some kind, and a repair kit. | |

| Just gonna talk realistically here
@Durkee The one you're thinking of is the M17A1 mask, if I remember correctly. A very capable mask, but for extended use in a contaminated environment, it sucks because you have to remove the mask to replace the filters.
@ilft99 Ooh.... those masks are okay against riot agents, but that's pretty much it. When exposed to blister agents, the lenses blister off.

| Still have this mask...
I'm hoping to get use out of it at the G8 Summit in 2012, but I'm not 100% sure if the filters are mint and can handle CS gas, so does anyone know where I can buy it to test with? Google doesn't want to help. I understand it's legal to own as long as the canister is under 2.5 ounces and it isn't in projectile form. And no, I'm not participating in any violent actions at G8...I'm planning on attending as press LOL.
I've already OC'd myself (some buddies helped) and the mask held up really well...but it stuck to the rubber on the mask so the second I popped it off, I took a big hit from the residue that knocked my vision out for a solid minute and defeated the purpose of the mask in the first place lol. I know for the future that I'm going to have to decon the entire rig with milk or something before I take it off, especially if it takes CS.
