| Stay with your squad, if you have a secondary keep that out until you get into a position that gives you an overview of the field. | |

| don't go for the "good sniper spot"... ...if you see a position as providing an advantage, odds are the OPFOR will also. Stay unpredictable in your positions, move after a few shots, and best to keep a rifleman or spotter with you for cover.
Second story windows are also a no-no. They're very predictable ambush spots. If firing from inside a structure, never stick your barrel out of the window. Its best to set up farther back into a window or doorway.

| Make sure your gear is quiet. Pick up your gear and shake it. Go over anything that makes noise with electrical tape. You don't want anybody to know you are there. Practice hand signals with your spotter, and in the long run, you may wish to invest in a PDW-style weapon as a backup for when the shitt hits the fan. | |

| Well instead of laying down your going to be moving so make sure you got a secondary. The good spots are mostly going to be on high grounds. | |

I'd actually disagree here. Unless you're in an area with a long street with a building at the end for a great kill zone, I'd say stick with the ground. A building corner is safer, and if it does go FUBAR you can just run down another street, rather than having to wait until they try and clear your building. I'd definitely invest in a PDW-tpye weapon as Jarhead said, such as an MP7, MP5K, etc. Or, Jarhead, you could jump up and down like the paratroopers did before dropping in on D-Day.

Or, Jarhead, you could jump up and down like the paratroopers did before dropping in on D-Day. Heck, even something small like a MP5J or a M4 CQB-R would work, just so long as it's something you could throw in a ruck or go-bag and beat feet. I think the ultimate sound test would be running in full gear, minus replicas. Try running around in your backyard and PTing a little bit in full battle rattle and cammies and see what makes noise, then tape it. You're also going to need to watch for things that will make noise in the field. Back when we had a CQB field, whenever I'd bring my stock up to my shoulder, the stock would make noise against part of ALICE rig, so I went over it with electrical tape. Never had problems with it giving away my position again.

| I considered a CQB-R, but even M4's are a little big, same with AKS-74U's (unless the stock went bye-bye). Probably some kind of SMG is your best bet. | |

| What kind of games will you be playing? Who will be with you? What are the sizes of the forces for both sides(aka team sizes)? How many and what type of structures are in the Area of Operations(AO)? Whats the specs on the rifle(FPS, Full length, BA/Semi etc)? How many lights/where are the lights that you have?
Those are all things to consider when entering a CQB scenario. In fact 90% of those are general questions that need to be asked for ANY CQB game no matter what role the player plays.
