This was officially the best day of my life.
We got there about two hours into the darn thing due to some weather delays, but got there in time to join in fir the second round of four. Here's how each round went. We were on the USMC side. The rounds felt pretty close to being in the actual Pacific, as it rained the majority of the day and the mud was plenty.
FIRST ROUND:
Objective: defend our single flag against attacking japanese forces.
Rules: Americans get five lives then your done, Japs get unlimited.
My role: Okay as soon as it started I sprinted up to a patch f very tall weeds and went prone, and waited. M buddy with the Spas 12 (BIN) layed down a little ways too my left, and Ssteves13 was crouched a little further back behind us. I begin to hear movement up ahead but have no visual. I hear a shotgun cock then *BOOMP* "Hey kurt...Got one!! Haha his first kill with the Spas 12. But, after a good two minutes, for an unkown reason, I catch him and Sstevens13 just as they're falling back. (later they told me it was because they lost contact with me and thought I moved out) I stay put, and just let them go, because I was in a great position, it was right next to one of the two paths that they were to most likely go through to get to our position. And I was right where it bottle-necked. And then it happened. I hear a bunch of Blood-Curdling screams and I just hear what
sounded like
hundreds of grown men screaming
BANZAIIII!!!! And I could HEAR their footsteps just plowing right at me. My heart was pumping so fast, I waited waited waited, stood up, immediately four guys in my line of fire. I tagged them all. Then three more came around with a straggler behind them, immediately tagged them. Then one last guy, A rather large fellow came into sight pretty far back, and I engaged him, and while I'm pretty sure I hit him, he just kindof turned around and walked away. To the respawn, maybe I never found out.
But that's eight tags, one uncomfirmed within three minutes, if that. Unfortunately, my battery died (the battery turns out to be fried) real fast and I called myself out to go get a new one. Came back, Now went prone on the Other side of that bottleneck with a guy I usually just end up playing with when I see him, and I got two more tags and he got two pistols tags until my goggles fogged up so much I just called myself out.
SECOND ROUND:
Objective: Kill enemy players, protect your flag and steal the enemy's.
Rules: Both teams get a 10 minute respawn time.
ME: Not too much happened this round, I just moved around with a very small unit, my two buddies and some guys we met up with and hunkered down REAL deep in some brush and protected our teams left flank, a long and high ridge line. While I only got two tags the whole round, It was still fun because the men I moved with were real players, very professional. We had to remain very stealthy and pick and choose our targets to engage because most of the enemy team didn't know where we were, until the end when a few little kids came up on our team and just started spraying towards the enemy side. By now, we were very close to their spawn side and were forced to Go Loud. We got hammered just as the game ended.
THIRD:
Objective: Defend your flags and capture enemy positions. Tagging an enemy player is also worth points for your team, as is bringing back enemy "Equipment" (Ammo Crates, Water Jugs, ETC)
My role: This round was mainly one HUGE firefight, over the middle flag, which I was one of the main people that helped cap it just a few minutes into the game. They're side and my side were both making a move on it, (This was my second attempt I got tagged a few minutes before when I was SOO close!) and one of their guys popped smoke, which luckily rolled and hit the kid next me's boot. I yelled "Throw it back!!!" and he chucked it back gracefully, and it landed in a perfect spot to give
us a nice smoke screen to move right up to it. we raised our flag, hunkered down and defended for our Hides!! there were four unsuccesful Banzai charges, which are always fun
....but I will admit, are scary.
FINAL VERDICT: USMC wins the final round, which gave us the win for the whole OP (They kept a rurnning score through all Four Rounds) and the Ref admitted that the flag we raised was indeed the deciding factor.
I only got one pic guys, sorry!
And NO; that's NOT the field behind me, that's just extra equipment. the Goofy kid behind me, that's Sstevens13.
All-around an amazing day, can't WAIT for the next OP.
EDIT: And that's not the natural color of my pants...that's how muddy it was. It was all over my M4 too, but my Thompson was worse.
