| What are some basic CQB tactics? My friend and i are going to a local field as soon as my broken thumb heals, and the main place we'll be playing is "the kill house", which is a 5000 square foot building which is basically a maze. The objective is for one team to get to the other side of the building and rescue a group of hostages. | |

| If you're shooting from a window or doorway shoot from the side and back without exposing your barrel. | |

| Keep fire sectors and make sure everyone knows what they're doing. Speed is a very helpful "tactic" as well. Learning to fire ambidextrously will also be a huge benefit for cornering. If you hear movement on the other side of a wall, it is never your team. Make sure your mags are wound BEFORE going onto the field. Bring your batt charger with you; the day you don't bring your charger will be the day you need it. Tape anything on your gear that rattles with electrical tape to keep it from giving away your position. And if you're going to be a hero, do it alone. Lemme see if I can think of more...... | |

| Thanks for the info guys. @Jarhead: as far as the ambidextrous shooting goes, i've got that covered. I have a broken thumb on my right hand right now, so I've been practicing shooting with my left hand. | |

| Good! My first couple of CQB games, I was strictly right-handed, and that ended up sending me back to the respawn often. If you're confident in your ability to fire ambi, you should be good to go, as far as that's concerned. | |

| I still have better stability/accuracy with my right hand, but that may just be a result of me practicing without being able to use my other hand as a support. Also, the gun that I'm getting (Galaxy MP5K CQC Variant, my avatar.) is small gun with a retractable stock, so it will be good for shooting around corners. The main reason I'm posting this is because they just opened this CQB field that I described in the main post, and its the closest one near me.... So... Any other tips? | |

| Know your replica's capabilities, its strengths, and its weaknesses. If you don't know that, you might as well be throwing bbs. Be a courteous player; never insult somebody when they get you, just say "good kill" and head back to the respawn. When you're moving to the respawn, whenever you come up to a corner, put your hand out and yell "dead man moving out", wave for another second or two, and move out. It will keep you from getting lit up a lot, trust me, I know from experience, haha. Another thing you're going to want to do is wear a baseball cap backwards so the bill will protect your neck and the back of the head. I've been lit up by a 30 RPS M4 in the back of the head, and it's not the greatest feeling in the world, haha. I'll post again if I can think of more.... | |

Buying a shemag when I get my gun and hydration pack. I'm going to wear it like a scarf so that it protects the front and back of my neck. I too have taken some shots to the neck. When my brother first got his TM glock, he ran up to me during a backyard war, switched his gun to full auto, and emptied a clip into my neck from 15 feet away.

| ouch. I wear a shemagh around my neck to protect from throat shots and keep bbs from traveling up my mask (and trust me, it happens). I've been shot right underneath the Adam's Apple at close range from a M9 GBB, and that's a very painful shot, too. | |

| well i personally have never played a plane cqb match but from what little cqb type things i have done ive learned that people expect you to be standing or crouched so try to stay very low when going around a corner. and causing a distraction doesnt hurt if your goal is to get to a hostage | |

Necro posting is usually posting on a thread over 3 months old. This one is okay with me.

| No! Do not thread lock! We can continue to get info from other users, man. cjsnipe has valid points, and this is far from necro posting. The way I see it, as long as the poster brings some good, solid info to the table, they've done nothing wrong. | |

...to a limit... sometimes it is so old, that starting a new topic will be better.

| Mmk. My bad. What do you guys think of retractable vs. Collapsable stocks? I'm buying a brand new echo 1 MP5 a5 from my friend when my birthday comes around. He's moving to a place that has banned airsoft so I'm getting it for 100 rather than 200. I'm gonna put a tac hand guard with a built in flashlight on it and I'm putting an MP5K collapsable style stock on it. | |

That is an example of something you should start a new thread on. That has nothing to do with CQB tactics. (even if this belongs to you)

(even if this belongs to you) Well I was asking weather or not you prefer collapsable or retractable stocks in CQB, so I assumed that it was related to CQB tactics. Meh, I'll start a new thread.
