| Do any of you guys know where I can purchase some plastic zip-cuffs? I've been looking, but I can't seem to find any, and I'd love to get some. If it comes down to it, I can always just get some zip ties and make my own, but that's not as much fun! | |

| You might check cheaperthandirt, or a similar weapon dealing magazine/website. Personally, I'd just grab some heavy-duty zip-ties. | |

| Yeah, I checked CTD, but I couldn't seem to find any. Any other suggestions? | |

| Google shopping for zip cuffs or riot cuffs? Can't think of anything else offhand. | |

| I don't think those are exactly the type used by LE, but they're close. If Im not mistaken, the issued flexi-cuffs don't have the little thing connecting the loops. But fine for whatever you plan to use them for (airsoft or survival bag I presume?) | |

| Yeah, I want to keep a couple on my rig and a doezen or so in my bug-out bag. You never know what will happen! | |

| There ya go, alot of money for something that performs the same purpose. Those "tutorials" on breaking zip ties wont work on the tie-cuffs...they're rated for 600+ lbs...and theses 2 loops instead of one. Plus I think he already damaged the zip-ties in order to give the appearance that he was just breaking them with raw strength. | |

| Yeah but it is possible to break zip ties like that. | |

| Okay guys, I was down at Home Depot fawning over the lumber section, when I noticed zip ties were on sale, so I bought a pack of 24 inch heavy's and a pack 14 inch heavy's. I'm just going to redneck it for my rig and get the good ones for my bug-out bag. So help me out. I can't decide if I should make loops out of two of the 24s and zip 'em together with a 14, or if I should just cuff people with one loop made of a 24. Having two 24s will probably be safer because less movement will be allowed, but then I will only have five cuffs. What do you guys think I should do?
edit: another question for you guys When I cuff somebody with them, do you think I should cut the end off or should I just leave it on?

There you get to play with buba jr...or maybe tiny jr...

| Zane, this is for MilSim use ONLY. The only reason I would have the tri-folds in my bug-out bag is if I have to restrain someone for their own safety. You never know.
But I was doing a little testing, and I broke the single in 30 seconds. I broke the double in 2 mikes, 45 seconds, so I'm going with the double, haha. I've improved the strength, though, by looping one 24 through another and going over that with a 14.

| Ya I say no for airsoft uses other than cosmetic. They'll look good on a USMC or MP loadout, but don't try incorporating it into a scenario. Too much could happen. | |

| Haha, yeah, I agree with you guys now. I tried to break out of my new design about an hour ago and ended up rubbing skin off both my wrists to the point of bleeding... I don't think I'd ever use those on anybody, haha. Those are strictly cosmetic now. | |

| If your just going to wear them on your vest or something for the looks and lolz. You can probably break the stopper inside of the cuffs so at least if someone were to get a hold of them and try to restrain you or anyone else, they'd be duds. | |
