| Hey guys idk if this is the right spot to put this under, but well I will be heading up to san antonio in june possibly. And well there is this place to play airsoft up there called harwood, and i heard it is awesome to play there. they even sell smoke grenades for 5 bucks, and man they let off smoke. well if we go up there we will more than likely stay in a hotel, and i was wondering about transporting my airsoft guns, like what do i need to do with them when traveling, and what to do with them when staying at a hotel because i know not to leave them in the car in the heat. Oh and I hope i can go up there because man it looks and sounds awesome. | |

| In maine, just make sure they are NOT hidden (i.e under a seat on the floor) put them in a place were an officer could see them from the window. Orange tips are a must. | |

| No no no no no...don't keep them out in the open. Having the replica within eyesight of the general public is also known as BRANDISHING A REPLICA WEAPON...which is illegal. Just be sure that the replica is in the trunk or out of passenger reach. Concealing a replica weapon is illegal, but the term "concealment" in the legal sense means it on your person...having it in your trunk or "put away" is completely legal...just as transporting a licensed firearm is legal.
If in the unlikely event you are stopped by a law enforcement official and you feel that they are going to search the vehicle, kindly notify them that you have an airsoft replica in the vehicle and give them the EXACT location.
When you are in the hotel, same thing...keep it "put away". There are normally closets or cabinetry that you can stow it in.
For the most part, use common sense. If you need to "take out" the replica for any reason while in the hotel room or on the road, make sure you do so in a fashion that will keep it out of public view.

STILL. When you head out on a hunting trip or to the range, you stow your firearms in a locked bag/case. That locked bag/case is then stowed in the trunk or in a position where a passenger in the vehicle could not access it. A gun case sitting in the back of your car within the general public's view is just asking for trouble.

| In Minnesota it IS legal to have your gun cased and can be placed near you in your front seat or in the back seat of your vehicle...as long as its cased then your fine. | |

| If your not exactly sure about the laws its not safe to take a chance. I would put it in a closed case or container and put it in the trunk or box.
JW-What state are you going to be in

| Still follow the terms I posted...Texas isn't as lawless as people think.
I had my old Kimber confiscated by the rangemaster in Austin while practicing for '08 prelims for a marxcomp because I was using a shock stick mod (modification makes a 1911 full-auto) and my father had to file a report with the Sheriff's Dept in order to get the firearm released back to us. They care about their rights, which is why they are sometimes actually even more strict than other states. I was dumb enough to doubt that though.
ANYWAY... Keep it stowed away...plain and simple.

| if you're a hunter, just transport your airsoft guns the same way you would your hunting rifle. If you have any kind of gun, replica or not, in full view in your car, and you stop somewhere and leave your car for some reason, odds are someone's going to take a liking to your gun, if you know what I mean... | |
