| Dear Mr. Government,
Heres an idea. How about you get off your ass and do something. Rather than sit there and watch it polute the ocean, destroy the beaches, kill the wildlife, and turn this beautiful country into greedy oil consuming bastardized nation. Take action, don't put up a camera so everyone can see the evironment get fvcked up. don't watch the "Watch your language" thing. Fix it.
my thoughts. thanks for sharing durkee

| well, they're just trying to contain it so they can get their precious oil, if they fixed where it was coming from and burned it all then we wouldn't have a problem, but they don't want to lose the oil. | |

| actually the government was doing something they made BP (british petroleum) take full responsibility because it was their fault in the first place. but i have a feeling the government will take over soon as BP is doing a crap job at cleaning up. | |

| Honostly? I don't see the big fuss...BP is perhaps the first company in world history to take full responsibility for somthing like this and pay out of thier own pocket. I hate to say this but unlike the politicians who are out there blaming and trying to impose new rules I HIGHLY respect BP for thier promp response..instead of blaming the people they were renting the rig from...or the people who installed the valve..they took full responsability for it.
besides you need them..even the most advavanced army in the world (USA) doesnt have the tech to go that deep under water.

| Nows the time to kick the oil and move to renewables. The media should be using the manufactured hysteria for the good of mankind...tell "the people" that this is worse than it really is and start moving towards solar/wind/hydro more. Nows the time... | |

| actually this oil spill is opening up the market for bio fuel companies. they are making their way into the market just because of this incident. i think in the near future we will see more and more use of bio fuels as opposed to fossil fuels | |

| Bio-fuels are actualy much much much worse for the world then oil. The problem is farmers can get paid alot more for corn used in bio-fuels then using that same corn for food. So now, while not a problem in the USA, the prices of food worlwide are scyrocketing. And while the increases may not seem like mutch..say $1.00 a pound...but your only making 5 a week thats massive.
Now you have a food shortage..people will do anything to feed thier families, this allows for a foothold for terrorists to form. This doesnt take into account the pesticides, fertilizers and diesel used in farming these crops.
Instead I think we need to focus on energy efficiency, getting more bang for your buck. Off shore wind farms would be nice as well.
What would be REALY nice is cold fusion..and apperently the guys everyone thought were BSIng when they said they could do it were right...just very very difficult to replicate thier results (equip for it is billions)

| Did you know wind power only accounts for 1% of the United States' energy? It seems very inefficient to me. My vote goes to nuclear power. It's cheap, it's safe, and it lasts forever. | |

| The problem with nuke is the wate it leaves behind...while it is safe and clean..well long term who knows. The reason wind isn't practical is becouse of the massive amounts of space needed, thats why ofshore wind farms would be amazing.
Coolest things Ive read is placing solar panals in space and beamiing the energy back as radio waves. 100% clean and the suns going to be with us for a while.
