| ok so, My main computer (the only one with internet) has got a virus. i've had this exact same virus before and I can fight by simply turning off my computer for a really long time, and usually when I boot it up afterwards its fine. anyway I'm telling you guys this because it means that I won't be on here hardly at all for a while so, I guess this is bye for a while. oh and just because one popped up while I was typeing this, I hate this virus because it makes VIAGRA and porn pop up all the time Oh and if any of you have any ideas for a free antivirus software that would be awesome. ok...well bye... | |

| i wouldn't use free antivirus software, specifically, because viruses can take over that program. for example. if you do a virus scan. the virus will trick the program into thinking there are no viruses when there actually are.... if you are going to use a virus program. you'll need to actually spend some money.... | |

| don't bother with virus software...just takes up space and will actually make you more prone to attack as it slows your CPU. I've had this comp for nearly 3 years, never had anti-virus on it...and I've yet to have any intrusions that I could not deal with. Just play it safe when surfing the web, don't download everything in sight, and as much as Pamela Anderson and Sasha Grey want you to visit her website...resist

| HERES WHAT YOU DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Download a program called "rkill.com" (google it!) Run it 3 times download "Malwarebytes antimalware" , also change it's name to "poop.exe" so the virus will not recognize it, and instill and update. Clean out anything using quickscan! | |

| 1) Ignore Durkee..not having a anti virus is stupid. 2) Stay away form Norton..thier big and as such a target. 3) As for free programs? Avast is pretty good, but I recomend you invest in somthing such as BitDefender, thier used by coorperations and not to expensive. 40 don't watch porn or go to bad sites or click on the shiny ads that tell you to whack a mole..they tend to get you infected | |

| My grandmother had AVG on her desktop and she got hit with a massive virus that allowed hackers from India to hack into the computer and control it. They stole her credit card info and attempted to spend nearly $5,000 on porn and sex toys. Crazy motherf***ers.... | |

Corrected. I am not very good with viruses because I never have them. I also do not run an anti-virus program and have had one virus ever that I gave to myself from another computer.

| As far as freeware goes, Avast! is as good as it gets. If you do risky things online, something will get through eventually, but if you're careful and you run Avast!, you should be alright. | |

| I always run my computers without virus protection, most of them don't help or cause problems of their own. Norton and Macaffe (whatever it's called) are awful and don't do anything, i've actually heard them listed as malware themselves by a computer tech. Really though like it's been said already just be careful where you go and what you download. | |

| sorry for the double post but i don't believe that this really belonged in the previous post.
It apparently won't let me open any antivirus software that I have. I suppose I'll just have to reinstall my OS, I'll probably do that in a while, maybe a couple weeks.
