| Yes, I have begun to think about what I can do to a replica I don't even have yet. I've been wondering if it would be possible to buy the stock parts for a Glock 18C's upper reciever and a Glock 18C slide and mate it with a Glock 17 lower. I think it would work since the only real difference between the two is the fire selector and the ability to fire full auto. Do you guys think it's doable or batshit crazy? | |

| I'm not certain, NN2H. I'll check around and see what I can find. | |

| roger that. i think its completely doable. so long as the lower and upper receivers are the same size. were you going to make it a g17 or g18? | |

| I was going to use a KWA Glock 17 as the original gun, then put on a Glock 18C upper reciever. So it would be a Glock 18C, essentially. | |

| In terms of real firearms the G17 is identical to the G18 save the fact that the G18 is fully automatic due to requests by an Austrian counter-terrorist unit. So buying a complete slide and matching it to a complete receiver should work fine.
BUT... You're going to have an EXTREMELY hard time finding COMPLETE parts. Most receivers/frames for Glocks come bare. You'll need all the tiny parts to the trigger mechanism (pins, springs, etc) and the magazine catch parts, as well as the springs, pins, bearings, switches, blowback chamber, barrel, hopup, etc for the slide since they usually only include a slide and outer barrel.
So in short it is doable if you find a complete frame and a complete slide/upper, otherwise you will be doing some hunting.

No. The hammer and trigger assemblies are different. Tried to put a Glock 19 slide on my Glock 23, and it didn't work. I also have an email from when I asked some canadian store the same question if you would like me to find it.

| Ah, no worries, I've decided to not even try, haha. If I really want a 18, I'll just buy one. Drummer, SnoSnipe, thanks for your help though, I appreciate it.
