Subject: Car finding help! Tue Jun 08, 2010 3:52 am
Alright, so I just passed my permit test (ya ya ya, I know...I'm late...just never really had a desire/need to drive until recently)... Only missed one...some question about how long after selling your car do you have to report it to the DMV.
ANYWAY...
Time to start the used car hunt...as there will not be a car available to me for fall semester (I have a 45 minute drive to school). Soooooo what I wanted to know is...anyone know any good websites for used car sales?
I'm looking for a simple sedan, don't care how old or how it looks as long as it runs well... I would opt for a Jeep, but I need the fuel efficiency of a sedan I think.
Danku
First behind-the-wheel with an instructor tomorrow. Should do good, I've driven before...........alot............

I have a suggestion!
The 1978 Ford Pinto!
If anybody ever pisses you off, throw that sucker in reverse and ram their car! That'll learn 'em!

I would say a Jeep Cherokee, that's the car I will be buying in 4months, stupid wait times... They get pretty good mileage, and they can still offroad, because it's a jeep! Airsoft would be cool in it... That's what I plan to do.

Mhm don't get a jeep for first car...youll end uo scratching it or crashing it. Best thing would be a Kai optima or osme such...and any Toyota or Honda sedan, they will last a long time and aren't over priced.

Ya my dad has a Jeep Cherokee, which would be the reason for buying one...as we have parts/experience. But ya, Toyota and Honda seem to be the way to go.
Share first cars, anyone?

I don't have a car of my own yet, but my friend's grandparents gave him a lincoln town car for his sixteenth birthday. he says everytime he passes the retirement community in our neighborhood, he has to fight the car cause it wants to go in. lol!

I was supposed to get a red Hummer H3, but long story very short, it didn't happen. I'll prolly just find some sort of sportbike or something until I can quit spending all my money on airsoft and buy a car, haha.

Mhm I hate to preach but here goes
To the person wanting to get the sport bike....don't try to get a GXR1000 or somthing like that..you will DIE. If you insist on a sports bike start with a ninja 250 or 500, thier forgiving and you wont end up a splatter on the road. Remember safty as well..don't go around in shorts and flip flops with a piss pot helmet...trust...road rush "Watch your language" sucks.
Your best bet would be to start with a cruiser of some sort..much more you can do with it.
And then best thing I think you could get would be a Kawa KLR 650..can go ofroad or onroad with it and its exremly comfy..plus it has a massive fuel tank so you can go for miles and miles (insurance is also pretty cheap)
..but yeah thats just my .02
Heres a video to think about :p

KLR 650, huh? I'll look into it. One question though: I'm a huge guy, so would that be a problem?

The KLR would be perfect for you then..its big I can't get both legs on the gorund and im 5'9"...you would look silly on a sports bike..)that is if you care about that stuff..I don't realy)
But you you need to look into the KLR..the price isn't to bad..amazing for touring and you can do some ofroad (granted nothing fancy)....Just don't ever get a Harley..please.

@Zane No worries man, my step dad loved Harleys, and, well, let's say I don't want to go down the same road he did. That's good the KLR is nice and big. I will look into it some more and check the prices. It's a Kawasaki, right? Tell me via PM.

My sister first car was the Jeep Patriot. Great first car, her Boyfriend could easily work on it with just a very basic knowledge of vehicle parts. VERRYYYYY Fuel efficient. Handles easily, too.

I have a 2001 Lincoln Town Car. Yes it pulls towards the old people place but its a huge car, gets good mpg, has a nice engine and has awesome handling.

Well I'm driving this guy for now...it's a great car, just doesn't have the MPG I need to commute every day. The first picture is on the field we played at this weekend...its in the "Lone Pine" area...not going to say where exactly as it is kinda a "you know it or you dont" area. Second picture is at our campsite yesterday afternoon...I sat in that same position for about 8 hours because I was so sore
