Okay, many of you guys know I have had a TSD SOCOM M14 forever, and it broke a while ago, sad thing is I loved the rifle and it has potential to do a lot of things.

Specs
Fps-350-375 with .2g
Distance-60-70 yards with .2g
Weight-5-8lbs
Length- 44"
Durability-7/10
Maneuverability-6/10
Accuracy-accurate up to 45-50yrs

So as you can tell it's a pretty good rifle for the price, but enough about that I'm going to get to the point. I want to make a close quarters/combat sniper rifle/DMR, something that is maneuverable, not to long but long enough to give me that extra accuracy I need to make a shot, and has enough fire power to get across the field.

As you can tell the M14 has pretty much all of those things and will be even better if it has a few upgrades. I do know for a fact that it is pretty upgradeable so it can do what I need it to do and work the way I want it to.

So this is what I plan on doing

Internal upgrades
Tbb (not sure what I am going to get ATM)
MA 150 spring (So I can get 400fps)
New Spring Guide (not sure some help?)
New Hop Up system (again some help on which one to use)
I'll fill the stock of the gun with silicone

Thats just for starters

External upgrades
Scope (I'm not sure what zoom I want)
Bipod (like this http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=25_85&products_id=28266 )
Silencer (I'll make an 8" silencer myself)
Scope mounts (I'll have to rig one up)

The whole idea is to give me something so I can stick to my role, but still be able to play in close quarters without having to sit a mile out of the field to shoot. I will probably end up using this for more then CQB but it's going to be it's main reason I am going to do this.

I hope this works, and if anybody wants to say anything feel free I'm not going to give up on the project though and I hope I can use the M14 by the 3 Battle for Wyoming it won't be completely upgraded but it will be field ready.

I have an CYMA M14 SOCOM, I haven't done any upgrades to it ATM. But i may in the future.

Question, why are you wanting to put silicon in tha stock? Just wondering cause you might have some difficulty breaking down you gun if you need to resoder or change something, since you have to pull the long extension wire that connects to the battery out some, which might get stuck on the silicon.... Just a thought Smile

The TSD M14's are spring guns not electric, I am fine with it. I am going to do the silicone after I do all the internal upgrades, so nothing to worry about, I found my old M14 and some mags to test some things out, my vest will hold 3 M14 mags, which is helpful. I also found a 9 inch piece of PVC piping and I made it so it will fit on the end of the barrel snug to give it more of a silencer look.

but the main reason I am going to silicone the stock is to cut down on noise as much as possible, since I am still going to need stealth I don't want the echo from the shot echoing into the hollow stock then into the halls.

Maybe I'm just raining on the parade here, but I really don't recommend going into any Close Quarters environment with just a spring gun. They will tear you up and spit you out. In CQB, it's all about speed and the replica with the highest ROF. At my field, we had replicas shooting 30-, 40-, 50-R/S. I only ever saw one person pull off a spring rifle, and he only made it because he was really, really, really, really good. The way I see it, you're better off just buying an MP5 or a G36C or something and upgrading it to perform in a CQB environment. The M14, even if it is a SOCOM length, is going to be long and therefore hard to maneuver with. Trust me on this. I even had a difficult time maneuvering with a M4, and that's shorter than a M14.

Just my two cents.
