| I searched but couldn't find anything here so i guess i'll ask What's a good way to store a battery if it's not going to be used for oh say the rest of the year? Should i just charge it then discharge it every 2-3 months? It's a 9.6 2000mah NIMH battery by the way. | |

| I believe you're supposed to discharge it, then stick it in the freezer in a dry, watertight bag. Please verify this somewhere else first. It's been over a year since I've taken Chemistry. | |

| That actually sounds about right but i'd like to verify that first or have an alternative. I guess it doesn't really matter now since i won't be doing anything airsoft wise for a very long time it seems. Thanks. | |

| You need to charge then discharge it...then you must hire a gypsy shaman to do a Battery Right before you store it anywhere! | |

| Time mostly. Work is eating up a lot of my time so when i'm not working i like to be resting or hanging with friends. Plus i just met someone and i've been spending a lot of free time with her too. And just to add to issues i've been thinking i'm 21, a college student, have very little money and there's better/cheaper things i can do to have fun.
I won't be quiting though, could never do that. I'm just going on a long hiatus from it which is why i asked about storing my only battery i have left.

| The only thing with the freezer is that you don't actually want to freeze your battery. Batteries freeze at well below 0 degrees C, but if you want a safer alternative, maybe the fridge. It's also important that it stay dry. Maybe stick a moisture absorber from a fresh bag of jerky in the bag with your battery? | |

Some kid did a science fair project on them this year, normal batteries, not rechargeable ones though. The ones that lasted the most were kept in a ziploc bag loose with salt and silicon packets, and changed the bag and put fresh salt in every other week. It might be the same for rechargeable ones, but I'm not sure.
