ok, so as you all know i went to an OP last november, and i remember seeing a kid with a baseball bat as part of his loadout. well i was browsing through the OP photos and saw a picture of him. see for yourself

i remember seeing this kid and agreed with my teammates if he came at me or them with that bat i would literally beat the crap out of him. kick him in the face and break a few fingers and make sure he'll never make babies.

but anyway, im actually curious as too how a baseball bat is actually useful and effective in a game?

I could just be there for looks, I guess. The only real use I can think of would be breaching something. Were there vehicles there? Because then it could be a cavalry-style beat down stick! Very Happy

Cause I know if I saw some guy running at me with a baseball bat it would scare the SNOT out of me. Of course I would shoot him but he would have some good laughs.

I can see no use for a baseball bat other than as an intimidation factor. I'm looking at his set up and the whole thing appears to be for looks.

Under the Canteen, is that a japanese sword or knife handle?

there were not any vehicles theres. for show i understand. but its rather pointless to be carrying around a bat that probably weights just as much as your primary "weapon"

Exactly Mercc. I saw the bat, i saw the Umbrella Corp. patch (which i really want now), and thought zombie killer. Not many zombie movie fans here eh? Very Happy

It's a pretty sweet and simple add-on if you're going for a zombie hunter style loadout. Still though i give it a 6.5/10 because i have not the foggiest clue what's up with that holster idea.

Yup yup, everyone who didn't catch that reference is probably feeling like an idiot about now. But one must ask the question, why would a soldier under the Umbrella corps bring a baseball bat, when he could probably choose a sword or other such melee weapon.

Zombies. . . we really should do something about that before it happens.

It's because bats are easier to use as a weapon then a sword and also a lot lighter. With a sword you have to actually cut to inflict damage, they can have a tendency to get stuck in a victim, they dull and nick if not taken care of, etc. Bats you just wrap some grip tape around the handle and start swinging. Never need to be sharpened, never gets stuck in target, and can still dish out some serious blunt force trauma. I'd much prefer a bat over a sword in a zombie invasion any day unless it's like a lightsaber.
