| Due to a recent rash of thefts where I play, I've decided to buy a locking hard case to carry my replicas in. I need something nice and durable, around 50 inches long, and that, obviously, can lock/be locked. I was kind of looking at this, and really like that sort of case. I was also looking at a Pelican-style cases, and I like those too. If you guys could help me out a bit, I'd really appreciate it. | |

| Yeah, it really sucks that it's come to this. At the last OP last weekend, somebody stole a friend's L96 magazines and his bipod while he was on the field. I don't feel like have my $40 mags stolen, haha. | |

| Don't get all paranoid about it, sniper, just be aware! Make sure a trusted friend is watching your replica when you aren't using it, or something like that. | |

| I have the case you linked. The first one they sent me was broken, and I had to do an RMA. The second one works perfectly well. Sturdy, durable, nice egg crate foam, built-in locks. Good deal for the price. You can get the Pelican case you want for about twice the price + the cost of the padlocks you'll need to put on it. If you can afford it, I'd recommend the Pelican since it has a lifetime warranty. But really, if petty theft is all you're worried about, the one from Evike should be enough. If they're gung-ho on stealing your stuff, they'll just lift your case and open it on their own time. The hard case will just keep temptation away from the small-time kleptomaniacs. | |

| Im really not a fan of hard cases...even with my RS I have them in locked soft cases with trigger and action jams. Dunno why.
You can get em for as low as $20 at Cheaper Than Dirt.

| Another reason I want a hard case is because everyone and their mother has the exact same bag as I do here, so people could just grab the bag and say it's theirs. I'd get a hard case and stencil my name on it so people will know it's mine and it'll be harder to steal.
@Drummer I'm not certain I want to carry my WE KAC PDW, KWA Glock 17, and godd knows what else in a guitar case, haha. Thanks for the suggestion though.
@Omega Cool, thanks for your input.
@Durkee I didn't even think of CTD. I'll check them out. Thanks
@SnoSnipe After I check out CTD, I'll look at the Pelicas a little more. I'm kind of starting to lean towards the Pelicans.

You can find some pretty unique cases. My .22 long rifle has a blaze pink soft case. Alot of cases also have like rubber patches on their faces that you could stencil/melt your name into. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/57398-1.htmlhttp://www.cheaperthandirt.com/59236-1.htmlhttp://www.cheaperthandirt.com/CASE509-6.htmlThe Blackhawk case is going to be your best bet.

| I like those, but like I said, everybody has a bag. I want something big and bulky and hard to steal without everybody noticing. I appreciate the links though Durkee. @everybody I went to the Pelican site for Military Cases here, and I can't find one that I could use. I don't need an exact fit for my replica, I need just egg carton foam. And it needs to be something big, too. Around or over 50 inches. Something I could fit a PDW, eight mags, a Glock 17, and maybe even a Marushin Mossberg 500 in, plus all my little goodies like weapons lights, spare optics, broomsticks, etc. etc. I know it'd be cramming 5 pounds of stuff in a 2 pound bag, but please bare with me, haha. edit: Okay guys, I did a little more looking, and I have found what I wanted. | That looks like the one you want, now you just need to shop around for a deal on it. I don't claim to know anything about locks, but you'll need a good pair of padlocks that are small enough to fit on the case. Masterlock is the industry standard, but I'm sure there's better out there. | |

| I think I'm going to be buying one from a friend at Kirtland AFB. He's selling it for $170. And yeah, I'm prepared to pay that much for it. I'm paying $1000+ for all my replicas, might as well pay $170 more to keep them safe. | |

Idunno about that...but whatever lol. From someone that often travels with $1000+ firearms...a simple soft case (I bought a 4 pack of 2-rifle 46" soft cases at Turner's for $60) + good lock ($15 "Master" brand from Walmart) will do the same job. You shouldn't be letting your replica out of sight while with public players even if its in a case. Pelican cases are great and all, but unfortunately you are paying for the name...there are "copycat" cases out there for less than $60 that are 1:1 replicas in their design and materials used. Again a soft case will be just as safe with a good lock...will often hold more than a hard case...is lighter...takes up less space (you try getting a M16-length hard case into the trunk of the average sedan...). Are you shipping your replicas or do you travel great distances with them? I'm not talking from your house to your field...I'm talking inter-state travel. The only reason you would need/want a hard case would be it's enhanced shock resistance during long-term storage or long-distance travel. But if you're still set on dropping the extra $100+ on a hard case...don't go Pelican. Guardforce is a much better brand and will cut your cost significantly (and they sponsor the shooting club I belong to).
