| i don\'t know.... but i would think that the longer shells would have longer bb housing so it could lead to more accuracy and better range but i can\'t tell you for sure | |

| Any 40 mil you get won't go more than 30 feet. From what I've seen, at least. | |

| 40 mike-mikes are only good for those WTF?! situations, IMHO. Don't get me wrong, they look sweet, but they just don't seem practical to me. Think about it; after you pop a 40, you have to remove the shell, put that in your dump pouch, grab another one, put it in the tube, and close it back up. That's going to take both hands, and that's a lot of time to be down. It puts both yourself and your team in danger because they have to watch your ass while you're playing with the 40 mike-mike. Just my thoughts on it. Sorry, not really on topic, just putting it out there. | |

| My M203 advice is not to bother, they are a waste of money way more then you will ever find them practical.
But if you must have them i would stick to the smallest load capacity ones if you want range and any kind of power even though it's still not bang to be very much. | |

| I agree with Jarhead and ILFT99; 40mm shells are just a waste of money and a load of extra weight you'll very rarely get the chance to use. Yeah, an M203 looks badass (until you fire it), but I don't think it's worth the extra cash.
Edit: Maybe someone should actually answer your questions in case you weren't deterred.
Length doesn't matter, just get what more closely fits your replica.
Length of shells doesn't matter. I'd recommend getting 60-round or smaller capacity. My 120 round King Arms shells are BB hogs when I actually use them (which is incredibly rare).
Mine is an Echo 1 and works just fine after 5 months of abuse. The mechanism is pretty simple. Not much can go wrong with the launcher itself. It has the correct markings, but it looks like someone burned off where it says "U.S.A." with a soldering iron or something. Mine came painted with an orange tip; probably because it came attached to my gun. Some black spray paint took care of that and added a neat "burnt" effect. The shells; as long as you reset them (by pushing hard on the button) after firing and store them with gas and plenty of lube, they'll be fine.
