| Just got back from a few days in Durango and Ouray, Colorado. Did some hiking, ran the "trail" up to the bridge Box Canyon Falls, if anyone knows what that is. I also attempted to swim the Uncompaghre River, but all that succeeded in doing was causing some rather deep, painful scratches on my feet. It's rather difficult to swim in water only two feet deep, hahaha. I invested in a machete and a Surefire light while I was there, as well. Here's a few pics I took while on the road between Silverton and Ouray. Beautiful scenery, gotta love the Rockies. and of course, my camera wants to hide from me right now... I'll upload some more tomorrow. edit: Found it! Here are a couple of pics of the mountains surrounding Ouray. There's a reason they call it "Switzerland, USA", haha. And this last one is the 'mighty' Uncompaghre River up at Box Canyon Falls. In fact, I took that picture standing right next to the falls looking away from them. | |

| Wow. I wish I could find someone to get out to do stuff like that with. The scenery when I hunt is a bit like that (because these turkies like to run up mountains). But to just hike out wherever you want with comfortable clothing would be a change for me. I'm jealous | |

| Haha, yeah, it's always fun to get out in the sun and the wilderness for awhile. I can't wait 'till the first and second weeks of August! I'm going to a cabin in Flagstaff, Arizona the first week, then when I get home, I'm going to a four day OP up north near Taos, New Mexico. A guy I know got a permit from the Forestry Service to use something like 300 square acres of Forest complete with a lake and camping area for an OP. It's going to be amazing, and you're all invited, haha. I'll be posting a thing in the Upcoming OPs section once he emails me all them info. | |

| Yeah man, PM me and I'll give you my email. I'll put you in contact with my buddy. If you could make it, it would be really great. We've got people coming from Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, and I believe a few from California as well. It's going to be a simply amazing OP, and you can stay either at the Lake in the safe zone or the on the field (if you stay on the field, you are a combatant at all times and can be attacked at night) or you can stay at a hotel in town. I plan on sleeping on field for at least half of the OP and then maybe staying in town for awhile. | |
