I remember now that a friend told me about this a while back. Never did get around to playing it. Tried it for the first time after I read your post. Spent about 7 contiguous hours playing it. Realized at about hour 5 that there were no skeletons in the version I was playing and that my fortifications were in vain. Spent the rest of the time exploring caves and mining for gold.

the alpha (buyy it its awesome 10+ hours yesterday) the one you were on is fun to explore, I like the fact that there are NO limits to the blocks you place(you have to get blocks in alpha(sucks coal is so rare I need torches )
did you see the little thing that said press b? (stupid question)
and the one thing is BUY THE GAME its like 9euros and in alpha *Saves some money* and there are some cool things,

Yeah, for some reason I thought you should have to mine in order to build. And yes, I did see the "press b" thing. At less than $12, I think I just might. (I'd like to take a moment to thank Greece for lowering the value of the Euro and saving me a couple bucks.) About how long do you have to prepare your initial defenses in the full game before skeletons start attacking? Can they place blocks as well? Is there a limit to the number of blocks you can carry?
Edit: forget that last question. I went ahead and bought it. It soon became very dark. How do I make it not dark? I assume torches have something to do with it? And there seems to be a certain type of rock that I can hack away at and destroy (it takes a few seconds) but I can't collect or build with it. Do I need some special tool to mine it? Please help the pitiful noob!
Edit (again): Ok, I found some guides. Less desperate now. More calm. Calm is good.

yes it is more of a crafting version though
so rather than kill zombies and survive its more like 'look at me I built a fort' sort of thing
also a multiplayer free version where you build things with other people/survive lava/zombies on some servers

Thank you WW. I've found my new addiction. The old ones were getting boring.
