I played a game where the enemy sniper had an L96. It looked sweet, however, I didn't consider the sniper rifle itself, any threat during the game. Before the game, I was worried I'd be getting counter-sniped here and there, but this didn't happen. The ASR's looks and bolt handle look is lame, but it seems lighter, easier to move with, and your opponent will find it mysterious (unless they've seen it before, which I doubt)

The advantages of the ASR is its weight. In weight the L96 cannot compare with the ASR's maneuverability and ease of operation

Yes it may not have a ridiculous stock with the thumb hole stock, but it will save yourself in the longrun.
