| which do you guys think is better as a "sniper" having a gun that can shoot 150' away and hit 9/10 times or a gun that shoots 225' and only hits 6/10 targets each time?
Personally I think accuracy, you can always fix your down falls by being stealthy, but you can't always fix your accuracy at long distances. easy fix move closer? Not necisarly moving can mean being spotted, and feild rules may require so much distance for so much FPS. Your opinions

| HUH?Is it just me or would that gun shooting 225' and hitting 6/10 targets be able to hit the 9/10 targets at 150'? The 225' targets are 4/3rds the distance of the 150' targets...so hitting 1/3rd more targets at 1/3rd the distance you were hitting 9/10 of the targets at [150'] is a mathematical probability... | |

To put your examples at more extreme levels (and more sense-making ones), I'm going to pretend you asked this:
A rifle that can throw a BB 225 feet downrange or A rifle that can hit accurately at 100ft
A rather....peculiar question. Why not have a mix of both ^-^

| I say accuracy. if you're good enough you can always get within 100 feet. | |

| Yeah, but what if you could have a chance of hitting someone 225' away? | |

better to know you're gonna hit them though. cause you don't want to take a shot and miss and have them figure out where you are. you know me, I don't take chances with my shots. I only shoot when I'm 95% sure I'm gonna hit my target.

| Yes I have been to games out side of my back yard. The numbers are representations though 150' and lower you have a 90% chance of hitting, and 150' plus a 60% chance of a hit.
I'm really going for honest opinions and after explaining better maybe i'll get more structured questions.

| Those numbers are unrealistic.
So any distance over 150ft is a definite 60% chance of hit..... Wow, 60% at 18 miles away is pretty good dude!
And at point blank you only have a 90% chance of hitting.... that kinda sucks.

| Okay here hopfully this makes you happy.
20' (minimal field engagement distance) to 150' you have a 8/10-10/10 chance of hitting a target.
From 250' to 350' you have a 4/10- 6/10 percent chance of hitting a target.
Now would you rather have distance and waste more ammo trying to hit a target, or would you rather have accuracy and have a higher chance of being spotted?
I say accuracy stealth is a trait snipers get so you can have a higher chance of making a hit you may shoot and scoot but it's worth it.

| What good is a sniper's accuracy without range? What good is his range without accuracy? | |
