The field itself is pretty pathetic though.

I'm a little confused by your statement. Could you elaborate on which field you felt was "pathetic".

We take great pride in offering the player's a variety of new and innovative fields of play. When we talked months ago we had really only set up "District 9" which is our CQB field. "District 9" has over 130 buildings with opening and closing doors, hallways, etc.
This is an elaborate CQB field and we have found that this CQB setting has helped players hone in on their tactical skills.
Perhaps you have not been out to our field lately and seen the rest of the fields.
Our trench field, which is on 2 acres, offers the player's a wider spectrum of play. We have designed that field after a true trench design from WW1 named "No Man's Land".
Our shoot house, which we designed as a "real house", is the first of its kind in the Airsoft playing arena. The shoot house is a 2,000sq house consisting of 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room, kitchen and a catwalk for instructors. We have also been furnishing it with household items such as: couches, an oven, a dishwasher, etc. Law enforcement have been loving it for training as well as some of the teams. We do let some of our more experienced player's play in there as well.
Our next field that we will be starting is the city.
We always appreciate player's comments so again please let me know which field was “pathetic” in your opinion.
Randy

Heya Randy, always happy to elaborate. For future reference, my reviews of fields and equipment are typically harsh (barbaric)...so don't take it personal, I just hate the world!

That probably is the case, haven't been out in a number of months...was there for the grand opening and once again after that.

Personally, I found the CQB field to be very "paintballized" and generic. Plywood and sheet metal facades offered little aesthetic diversity and the layout seemed predictable, almost promoting speed-ball style play. The way I felt: I didn't need to drive 80 miles to play on this field. [Reminded me of SC Village...yuck!]. Can be greatly improved by letting some taggers in for a few hours...have them scruff the place up a bit so it doesn't looks so square and uniformed.

Trenches were muddy and I felt like I was just 'softing in a vacant lot somewhere. Nuff said about that...hand me a shovel and I'll do that in my yard.
Grand opening was great as far as attractions go...though my party and I did get a sense of disorganization, but that is understandable as it was the first day and over/at capacity. Second time I went things had gotten better, though there was still very little diversity in the game styles.

Cool to hear there are more options for those wanting to stay on the airsoft-only fields...will have to trek over and see one of these days.
Are you guys open through winter? Rain or shine?

Oop one last thing...isn't airsoft an honor sport? With referees on the field, it becomes "play as long as the referee doesn't see you get hit".
Though I understand your reasoning (liability, safety, whatevacetera)...the game controllers need to take up a more passive role.

Oop one last one last thing...on your website...the safety and rules page...can you change "Weapon Rules" to "Replica Rules"?
Last I checked, we're not using weapons and we certainly don't need the general public labeling our replicas as weapons.

Thankue Very Happy

PS: Code Red does earn special super gold star brownie points for having management that actively participates in the airsoft community. Great to see...you guys really do seem to be interested in the greater good of the game and aren't just another corporate venue [*cough* SC Village *cough*] out to make a buck on an honorable pastime [*cough* SC Village & affiliates *cough*] . THAT is what is going to keep the field on the boards for me and leave in the possibility of a return trip.
