| I have a standard 8.4V 1100 MiA battery. Do I have to charge it when the battery is completely drained ? Or can I chargeit half way through even when it's not fully charged vice versa.. ? | |

| Is it a Ni-Cd or Ni-Mh battery?
Ni-Cd batteries have memory so you need to completely drain the battery before recharging. You can do this by using it until it's dead or buy a discharger. Failure to not discharge the battery can lead to lower battery life.
Ni-Mh batteries have no memory so topping off the charge won't effect them the same as a Ni-Cd.

It's an Ni-Mh battery. So therefore, I don't have to worry about draining it ?

I did read the whole thread. he didn't need to know how long to charge it, he just wanted to know if he could charge it when it was half full or if he had to drain it. the question was answered: no, he doen't have to drain it. but he obviously knows how long he needs to charge it.

| I think it's useful but not necessarily releveant . Sure its helpful but A. Sniper has a point with how long to charge it not being the question. | |
