Sony Bloggie Touch

Ok... so I'm considering purchasing a compact 1080p camcorder. Right now my top (and only) option is the Sony Bloggie Touch, it's pretty much exactly what I want. 1080p recording, 12.8mp stills, 4gb storage, HDMI output... I think I'm gonna do it.

So you might be thinking, "OK, then get it and stfu Drummer!"

But I'm playing it safe, double checking, and seeing if you guys have any better recommendations for me before I buy. Keep it compact (no flip-out screens), 1080p, and under $200 please .

P.S. I'll probably just shove your suggestions under the rug and get the Bloggie, I tend to do that sometimes. But if you can explain why your suggestion is better, I'll consider it.

I've heard really good things about the Bloggie. Should be a great buy!

I have the Kodak Zi8, and for $160, you can get a great bundle.
Also, it's 1080p, 720p 60Frames/Sec, 720p and WMVA.
IT has expandable memory up to 16gigs with SD card. Buy it, better than bloggie. It also outputs HDMI and has a mic jack.

+1 Creed. Friend has one as well, perfect camera for the cashes.

Hmm. On Amazon I can get the Zi8 + 16gb card for under $130. I think I might do that. But the Bloggie is soooo cooooool! But the Zi8 is cheaper and pretty much the same... >.<

EDIT: I'll probably use the extra money to get a tripod.. yeah, yeah that sounds good. The only thing is, the Sony takes 12.8mp stills while the Zi8 shoots 5.3mp. Hmph.

Edit nevermind apparently the touch screen is poo takes longer than buttons. I will probably get the Zi8 and 16gb card...

After watching demos of the Bloggie touch and Zi8, I think I like the Zi8 better. The Bloggie seems darker than the Zi8, and doesn't have a very good autofocus function.

Creed thanks for the links, I didn't even think they made things like that. The telescopic lens is a big probability, but it kinda gets rid of the compact-ness. Can it be attached and taken off fairly quick?

I just ordered the Zi8, Transcend 16gb SDHC Class 10 card, and a 4" flexible tripod (my brother just bought a nice adjustable one for his eBay photography, so win.) The thing that sold me for the Zi8 was the different focus settings, SD card slot, & now the add-ons...

The attachments come on and off easily, and are well worth the money. Im picking up the 8x lens soon.
