Should be fine being a 9.6 instead of the 11.1. By the way that is a LiFePo battery not a LiPo, much safer to use anyway over a LiPo but stills puts out the juice.

No 9.6 LiPo Exists.
Lipo Cells come in 3.6v Individually.
A 7.4v LiPo with a 20-25c Output rating will certainly give you a similar performance as to anything between a 8.4v - 9.6 NiMh/NiCd.
