| Black , on Black , a great color that you can't go wrong with. Black matches any terrain , yes , even including desert , blizzard , and woodland . | |

| black. m16-a3 (Member here) had one in black for over a year, but he just painted it about a week ago, it looks SO sick. so, Black. so you can paint it. OD is one of my favorite gun colors, tho. | |

| Yea black is good for painting but if your not planning on painting you should stick with OD because there is NO naturally occurring black backgrounds to blend into. | |

| Also black sticks out, unless you want to paint it. Then the black underneath would make the upper paint darker which would be good. | |

| ... Get a black one then paint it a uber cool custom camo scheme?
If you don't want to paint it yourself then I have a question for you. What environment do you live in? How many seasons do you go through? please don't make any stupid comments about this most southern US states have rainy and dry seasons; unlike where we up here north get the full 4 effects of the seasons. what type of vegetation is around you(difference between desert and desert with low lying shrubs etc etc).

| Well, i live in Arizona, so i don't get that much rain. its hard to describe here, it desert, but very green for one. and lots of cactus/plants. also, one of my friends goes where there are lots of green trees, grass and stuff, which is very odd for this area. i'll try to find pic, try google images "tucsons deserts" or AZ or what ever. | |

| Yeah I know what you mean by a "green" desert. Go with OD, the black will stand out alot more due to lack of shadows. If you decide that you want to paint the gun yourself(highly recommended) then go with black just because it is easier to have a single base color when you spray paint something.

| several peaople have stated that black stands out. This is not entirely true. If you are in an area with a very thick canopy, (many plants overhead) that create dark areas and many shadows, than a black gun, in my opion, couldn't hurt as much as people say. It sounds like your area doesn't have this type of environment, I'm just throwing in my 2 cents. | |

My cousins live in Arizona if you live near mountains and higher up in elevation it will remain green and alive if you live lower in elevation such as 20 miles out of pheonix and not in a populated city like pheonix ypur more likely to see cactuses and more plants that live in heat.

Your never going to get a true black tho unless it is dark. Black will still stand out a little bit in the shade its best to blend with naturally occuring colors.

| Black blends in with just about any terrain but not as good as others designated for that terrain only . | |

| I think that pink mixed with purple camo works great in the winter time. I painted my UTG L96 sniper rifle that color last month and it looks AWESOME!! I couldn't even tell how many people don't notice me in the woods. It's great. | |

| i would get a OD gun because it is easyer to paint it black if you don't like it but i think that you will like it and darker colors like black stand out a lot more than lighter colors like OD...and OD is not to light of a color but it will work fine in woodland areas but if you are in a sandey area get TAN... | |

| What would you rather have, something designed to hide you during the day, or something that only hides you at night?
If it can hide you at day, it can hide you even better at night.
