| Hey, I just picked up this great little M4s over the wekend.. So far I'm really liking it. Chrono's at 380 with 0.250's. I have 2 300 round mags. BUT.. The manual that came with appears to have been written in Chineese, translated into Farsi by an Marathi speakng Indian then transcribed into English by a Portugese speaking Afghan Kurd. I really cant\'t make heads ot tails of it... What do you guys do with regards to maintence and lubrication? How often and where do you use lubricants and what kind do you use? Thanks. | |

| You should only lube the feed with silicone oil. For cleaning the barrel you have to use the other end of the rod they should have given you and wrap a thin piece of TP around it. then wet the tp with silicone oil and slide it up and down your barrel a few times. (your sniper rifle should be similar)
Use lubricants after every 2000 rds.

| Well if you do that, I would only want tacops to know wtf he was doing so we don't get a reply saying "ITS ALL YOUR FAULT KILL"
yea..anyways It will be mandatory after about 8 months if I were to guess. alot of times the grease will begin to clot with grime and shavings from the gears. Its also a good Idea to check your gears for missing teeth when you are doing this.

| I would recommend not using TP to clean a barrel.I would use a wash cloth like a rag that is clean and soft.Using TP some stuff on it comes off and stays in the barrel until you clean it with something different.you don't have to use a wash cloth.SOme sort of linen cloth like an old T-shirt.Oh and the gun looka great. | |

| not the whole t-shirt. any other cloth-like fabric would work fine TP is just dandy enough for me but again I have a shorter barrel | |

| I use those book covers. Just cut a 2in by 2in square and thread it. It seems to work better because it only looses liquid when its streched. So it seems to evenly distribute silicon throughout the barrel.

| I get my old clothes that don't fit anymore, cut off a little strip of them, put them on the end of my cleaning rod, and stick it down the barrel of my L96. | |

| Using TP, paper towels ect. is wrong, you are going to damage your barrels,
The best fabric to use is a Micro Fabric, the same cloth that you can pick up at the local Eye Glasses Store for about 1 $. If you don´t have one, an old Cotton T-shirt works nicely.
Remember to `` TURN´´ your cleaning rod down the Barrel, don´t just shove it in and out, and if you use any kind of lubricant make sure not to get it in your HOP-UP, most lubricants will damage or destroy your HOP-UP Rubber, never mind that you make your Hop-UP pretty much useless when you oil it. The Rubber is there to give the BB the Drall ( spin ) it needs for a stable and accurate flight path, when you oil the Rubber the BB´s slide through the Rubber with little or no spin and you end up with FLOATERS that go everywhere except where they should.
