Ok this is a review of the ICS M4 RiS
I bought this gun from airsoft arms about 2-3 years ago out of desperation. My motor on my aug went down and I needed a new gun for Blind Fury 2. As I walked into the store I noticed many cool guns ranging from Augs, the Ak, and several M4 and G3 variants. I told them my situation and said I want a solid gun. After trying out several variants from differing manufactures I found myself going back to the ICS. The first thing I noticed was the weight and how solid the gun was. The materials used in the gun were of a higher quality as it felt eriely the same weight as an actual AR-15.
The gun shot about 320-340 at the event crono perfect for the up close work I so enjoy =-) The gun worked flawlessly all day long and through the next year. I did not experience a single problem. The only problem I incured with the gun was my barrle clip broke causing much frusteration and resulted in it being down for several weekends until the problem was realized and rectified (thanks to Seabass for his help =-)
What really seperates this gun from it's peers is that the ease in which it can be disassembled. the mech box is in two peices which allows you to change springs in just a few minutes or a barrle in less then a minute. Also the foward assists releases tension on the spring for storage or the occasional jam. But quality comes at a price expect to pay $370. As far as a sniper rifle a M4 is not the right chose, but it makes an extremely versitale rifle for a spotter.
My current rig is the ICS M4 RIS with a few small modifications.
those include
-Infinite torque motor (extremely fast trigger response)
-Systema high speed gears.
-madbull 6.03 barrle cut to about 471mm in length
-Complete Cylinder Bore up kit with a Ploy carb piston
-jbu silencer
-holo sight
-Crane Stock
-9.6v 3300mah battery
