| Hahaha LW I love it. Say you're making an investment and spending money to try and contribute to getting the world economy moving again by spending more using the tax cuts that the government is providing, and that it's for the good of the capitalist world and will help to keep her living in the manner to which she has become accustomed?

| Tell her that owning a 20+ pound gun will attract all the ladies at school, also slip in that this is in no way related to male genitalia compensation...
Honestly noone knows your mom better than you do.... I have been in this situation before, i told my mom that TM M4's only cost $150 at first then I slowly worked my way up to $250.... It worked but I don't advise doing so. Deception is not a good thing(in most cases).

| You should just keep the G3 and slap a box mag on it if you plan on going down that road... Even better, buy midcaps! Alot of people underestimate the numerical value of 100. At 15 BB's a second it takes me over 10 seconds to empty a mag... Thats allot of suppression. I'm sure you can practice reloads so that it takes no time to reload therefor giving you another 10secs of rock and roll. Plus if you ever head to a big even you will gain alot of respect from everyone around because you went with midcaps not a box mag. KA midcaps: http://www.airsoftsmith.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=25_40_62&products_id=1287Well I calculated the time and its actually 13secs to empty a midcap for me. sticks | |

| I'm not sure on why you absolutely need the gun now. Look I have been airsofting for roughly a year, and I have already spent over $1,000,000+ just with my eyes! What you should do with your extra money is begin budgeting it. Finding odd jobs always helps, or if your at the age getting a ptimer at a grocery store would help alot.
It would be stupid to spend ALL your money at one time, I think that is the point your mom is getting across.
Sad news is, you can never get a great deal on any guns unless you get it from a very good friend. *HINT*

| use the explanation my daughter used on me,
Dad, I´ve been playing for 4 years now and have come to realize the different sports that make up AirSoft, Field and Track, Gymnastics, Erobic´s, and weightlifting. Now I can keep up with all the guys on the Team in Field and Track, I have them all beat in the Gymnastics department, and as far as the Erobics go most of them are Sucking Wind long before me, so now I want to work on the Weightlifting. So I would really like a M-60 Shorty for either my Birthday or Christmas.
Guess what ??
She´s getting it for Christmas !!
Anybody that comes up with such an original arguement for a new gun, gets it.

| To lw im not planning to get everything untill spring so i am looking around and seeing what is best for me and that is why i droped the saw and now i can get alot of opther stuff that would be of more use. I am only 15 now so i can't get a job but i do do stuff around the house and my parents pay me for it like clean the garage 10 bucks so on. and i might not even sell my g3 i don't really know if i am or not so i may end up with both. And to slob that is a great idea only i am starting boxing after all of the holidays so my parents want to see how well i do in that. I have tried many sports and i am mediocer in most of them but boxing is the sport i have always wanted to do so i will be more inclined to do it and i think that once my parents see that i am dedicated to something i might be able to convince them that i am more seriouse. | |

| I like Slob's ideas, but there are plenty of routes you could take. Unfortunately, since you just recently bought a gun, and you're young on top of that, convincing your mom may be somewhat of a task.
Some things you may want to do: 1 - Remain calm. Show your mom that this purchase isn't a spur-of-the-moment buy (impulse buy). Moms hate that. Show her that you've been interested in it for a while now, and now that you've gotten into the sport more deeply, you realize this rifle suits you best. 2 - Tell her why exactly you want the gun. Is it better suited to your style of play? Is it better quality? Does it get great reviews? Will it last a lot longer than your current gun? 3 - Don't bash your current gun too much to try and make it look inferior to the gun you want. This won't reflect well on your case, and she'll probably assume that you'll do the same thing to the gun you'll buy, when another cool gun comes along that you want. So focus more on what's so great about the new gun, and less on what's not so great about the old gun. 4 - Sell one of your current guns. I know that may pain you, but it's a sacrifice you may have to make. If your mom sees you stockpiling guns, she'll just say that you have too many already, and another one would just be a waste of money and space. 5 - Let her know that you're interested in the gun right now. Just mention it though, don't harp on it. Just say that you've been looking around and you found one you're "thinking" of purchasing in the future. Then, save up your money so you have enough to cover the entire cost. That'll do two things - prove that it's not an impulse buy, and show that you've taken the time and patience to save up for the gun that you want.
Good luck! | |

| Thanks admin and i told her i wont buy it untill the spring so she knows its inpulse and i am trying to sell my current gun but my dad... said that i couldent sell it out of local area so thats what is really hard about it. I mentiond the gun to her and she ask why i need another one and i told her the 100% truth. That i like this gun it will help me more when i do other airsoft stuff and i can get more stuff for this gun than i can with my other gun. She asked what i would need. So i told her that this will be the last gun i buy untill it breaks to the point of no fixing and i want to do some stuff to it (upgrades) and make it even better and it would be cheaper for me to get this rather than try to fit my older gun with the stuff i need. The box support gun mags for g3 is at least 65 and i can get a m4 one for 50. But thanks for the advise she doesnt like the idea to much but she also said that i can buy it on my own. | |
