| Hey everyone,
I'm just starting to get into airsoft games, and I stumbled across this forum. Just wanted to say hi and I'm enjoying reading all of the posts here. There are some serious airsoft players here...I can tell. Very cool.

| Its nice to meet you and hope to see you using the forum quite a bit. As you can tell, most of us are addicted to the game and own more than one replica. If you have any questions we will all do our best to give you a good answer and then there is Slacker who will probably give you the opposite answer... dont pay attention to him, he is crazy. <-- Ok, I made up the part about him giving the opposite answer, but he is crazy. I noticed you have a Sniper logo, if you dont already own a replica and are interested in a nice affordable bolt action, I would have to suggest either the UTG Shadow Ops or the JG Bar 10 (just got one)... both are outstanding and for the price they are hard to beat. If you use the forum, you will come to know my name well... talk to you later. | |

| In my opinion, a good solid AEG is the way to go for a beginner. It allows you to figure out what kind of player you are. HOWEVER, I would strongly urge you to go to a local event / field and try playing a few times before making your purchase as you will see what you like to do. Airsoft is different for everybody... for example: I myself prefer to be a little on the sneaky side but like to get close and as a result there are a lot of times that I end up within 20 yards of entire squads and take them on. Slacker on the other hand, from 80 yards away would run directly at the squad screaming at the top of his lungs the whole way and shooting from the hip... somehow it seems to work for him, dont ask me how. The Admin is incredible with a sniper from medium to long range and Stormtrupr is good at setting up a camp site and ordering pizza's. J/K Stormtrupr!!! It is best to atleast try a few different replica's out and see what works best for you. As far as AEG's go, these are some nice replica's that have proven to withstand the test's of time. -Echo 1's are good for low cost and they perform great out of the box. There is room for improvement, but they can be upgraded just like any other AEG. I have 2 and love them both. -Classic Army are good for intermediate players. I highly recommend them as they use very high quality components and full metal bodies on most of their replica's. Great for upgrading. -Tokyo Marui are extremely reliable and lots of aftermarket parts As I mentioned above, as far as bolt action's go, these brands stick out as solid performer's... -UTG Shadow Ops L96, great beginner sniper that shoots pretty good right out of the box. -JG BAR 10, basically its a Tokyo Marui VSR but at half the price and uses 100% of the parts from the Marui... so when upgrading it is VERY easy to find parts for it. -Classic Army M24, a little higher price tag (Airsoft Arms has the best deal I have seen) but a very high quality feel and great upgradeability. -Tokyo Marui VSR, basically the benchmark by which all bolt actions are compared to. It shoots good, looks good, and it has more parts out there than a Honda Civic. Here are some good site's to find these brands: www.airsoftsmith.comwww.airsoftarms.comwww.airsoftatlanta.comwww.precisionairsoft.netwww.airsoftgi.com Hope that helps you on your quest to finding the right replica for you. | |

Haha. Probably the funniest thing I've heard yet. I guess there's humor in the truth Just kidding Stormtrupr. Great advice though. I couldn't have said that nearly as well. I guess the best I can do is re-inforce what he said. I own the UTG L96 and it really is a great stock gun. Not too many upgrades, but for the price it's got great specs. I especially love the consistency of the shots. I also own a Classic Army. Great gun, lots of upgrades, and a real solid gear box (as do most CA guns). Also, many of my friends own Echo 1s. They've had very few problems with them, and they're all-around solid guns. I'm very impressed with how far Echo 1 has come in the past few years. That's about all I can say from personal experience. As for the other guns mentioned, they all get great reviews from what I've seen. Just make sure to do your research, buy from a respected dealer (ebay/walmart not recommended), and ask here for any advice! Good luck!

| Echo 1 is good but I personally like JG because they are cheaper and shoot harder. But JG's don't have a 30 day warranty like E1 and since it has a stronger spring it will wear down faster. But the FPS is still to little to cause any serious damage (to the gearbox I am talking about, trust me it still will make you bleed from 20 ft. )and it won't hurt anything for a LONG time. | |

| Paintball isnt Airsoft though... and since we are talking about Airsoft, I guess your remarks do not bother me. I have to admit, it would be pretty funny seeing a Domino's driver walking out on the field to deliver a pizza. That would be a great picture to post online!!! Honestly, Stormtrupr you are probably the stealthiest person I have played against in the woods... so I think you just need to play a little more and you will be like a ninja!!! | |
