The black gearboxes are rather impressive, My Echo1 Stag-15 came with one and it feels a lot more bulky and stronger then the older ones. But as for the two companies Echo1 has more quality control then JG otherwise they are the same just about except Echo1 has trade marks. I prefer Echo1 though because i got a JG and it fell apart and I had to fix it but I think i had a lemon because ive seen other pretty good ones.

The only thing that I have found out to be absolutely necessary to get with my jg is a new hop up and bucking. I would almost factor that into the price of buying a gun of that quality.

personally im on a budget right now and i can't afford an echo 1 or anything higher. Thats why i just ordered a JG M4A1 carbine 2009 version off of Airsoft Megastore for $127. Its a complete tokyo marui clone with a 1 piece TBB put in and a full metal gearbox. I think it will be great.
