L96 Assembly problems

Hey - i got my Warrior L96 today, and im having some serious problems with the assembly.

The problem is i cannot get the barrel and trigger bit into the plastic body, it gets stuck on something in the middle. Ive looked at instructions and youtube videos, and as far as i know im doing it right. Ive tried different ways of trying to fit it in, i haven't used to much force though as i don't want to break it.

Help would be greatly appreciated...

Warrior l96? I've heard great things about it. How is it performance wise?
