1000 FPS pellet to the head at close range able to kill?

OKAY so yea.. this snake was harrassing my dogs and... I put them in their pen until it left and I thought "WAIT! I have a old pellet gun....in my closet..." would that 1000+ fps pellet to the snakes head kill it automaticly? or would I have to watch it flail around for a while

id put money on instant death. medulla oblongata!!!!!!!!!!!! (shoot it right behind the skull where the skull meets the spine)

well, i tried a 300 fps springer on a frog and it exploded, so, yeah, it will kill it

if not, send me in.by the way what type of snake is it?

i had a snake do this to me and my friends once and i just took my old crosman airmag c11 AS gun, 400 fps and shot it twice in the head, it flailed for about 15 seconds but it died/

Hmmmm let me think about this,

If you are using .87g Pellets, your gun is producing, 40.43 Joules of energy.

Ever get hit by a 4+ joule weapon at close range ?? Let me fill you in, The .43g BB goes through the uniform, and buries itself under the skin, then the real pain begins when you try and dig the little bugger out. So I think it would be safe to say the your Pellet gun at close ranfe with 10 times the energy, would quite quickly end your snake problem.
