Another member sent me this yesterday, just goes to show that ther are still a multitude of ``DUMBASSES ´´ out there that are just making it all that much harder.

Think how a Police Officer is going to feel rolling up on four `` ARMED ´´ individuals, he/she is reacting to 4 Real Steel guns, no Law Enforcement Officer goes out the door thinking that the `` Bad Guys ´´ are armed with AS Replicas.

Another case, a bit older, and not players, but still Airsoft is involved.

Two people were arrested Sunday night after a man reported that he was following a reckless driver near Payson when someone in the car fired a gun at him, according to the Utah County Sheriff's Office. Two arrested in airsoft gun shooting incident

Sheriff's Office spokesman Sgt. Spencer Cannon said that the airsoft gun fired from the car was an Airsoft pellet gun, and the victim was originally following the shooter's green Cadillac Escalade because its occupants owed him money. When the victim pulled closer to the Cadillac to write down its license number so he could report the driver for reckless driving, the driver stopped and began shooting, the victim told police.
"The complainant actually knew the three suspects and there had been some type of argument over a debt," a press release from the sheriff's office stated.

The victim called 911 to report that he was being chased by a reckless driver. A Santaquin police officer pulled the alleged shooter over near the Payson landfill, around 11300 South and 6000 West, Cannon said. When the Cadillac pulled over, one of the passengers jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

The Utah County Metro SWAT team was called to the scene, and a sheriff's office aircraft helped search the area with infrared cameras. Police found the suspect after about an hour and a half, Cannon said.

Police in Milwaukie say local citizens detained a male teenager who was threatening passers by with an Airsoft gun. In this case the weapon looked almost identical to an actual .45 pistol, but only fired pellets.

Kevin Krebs with Milwaukie Police, says officers responded to SE Washington & SE 25th today at 12:15 p.m. on a report of a man with a gun that was making threats. He says citizens reportedly detained the male suspect, but he was able to flee after a brief scuffle.

"Milwaukie officers found the suspect running from the scene and after a brief foot pursuit he was detained two blocks away. It was soon discovered that the alleged gun that the suspect had was an air soft pistol," Krebs said.

He says officers learned from witnesses, that the individual had been behaving in a loud and threatening manner on a corner at SE Washington & SE 25th.

Krebs says the suspect made verbal threats toward the a citizen who approached him, and displayed what appeared to be a handgun.

"The citizen aided by another wrestled the gun away from the suspect. The suspect fled on foot and was later captured by Milwaukie Police."

This took place next to St. Johns Catholic School, which Krebs says was placed in lockdown. Across the street was Milwaukie High School. The high school was <i>not</i> placed in lockdown.

The suspect, 15-year old Yevgeniy A. Pavlenko of Oceanside, California, was charged with Menacing and Disorderly Conduct. He was taken to Clackamas County Juvenile Reception Center.

No one was injured in the incident, Krebs said.

"The suspect was not a student at either school and had no relation to the schools. The incident further underscores the danger of Airsoft guns and the potential disastrous results. The gun in this case was indistinguishable from a real firearm and it was only on close examination it was determined to not be an immediate threat."


For those that have been here a while, and a long time more than myself, you know my feelings on `` Backyard ´´ AS, the dangers are just too great.

I just hate this... It just puts a bad rep on all airsofters... Before you know it airsoft guns are going to be as hard to purchase as real guns... The problem is that all airsofters want realism in their weapons, but thats also what causes common misunderstandings... Cheap airsoft guns should all be clear and easy to define as toy weapons... Its just annoying when people buy an airsoft Pistol from Walmart and end up pointing the thing at a cop! To all airsofters out there, if you have painted/removed/hidden/or decreased the size of your Orange Tip of your airsoft weapon, it is now concitered a real weapon to law enforcement. Keep it in a gun case or bag, and never carry it or show it in public. If you ever see someone doing this you should take the airsoft gun away from them and Pistol Whip them with it! They oviously deserve it... The worst part is that this happens all the time with Toy Guns, but AS guns seem to be the ones that are constantly highlighted...

As I say, over and over and over again, it's the actions of the few that speak for the many. It's people like these that get our Second Amendment (blessed be thy name) taken away. (Yes, AS can get the real steel banned as well)

Not to rain on your parade alexkmmll but some States and cities already have legislature pending regarding Airsoft, sales, use of, and age limitations.

N.J., M.A., F.L. are trying to pass laws that limit the sales and use of AS Replicas to 18yrs of age and above, M.A. is going so far as to require all customers to have a Firearms ID Card.
Some Cities and counties of C.A., are try to get AS completly Banned because of the Dangers it poses to the community and user of AS, they don´t want any Accidental Shootings/Deaths.

Ohio, also has some sort of weird legislation pending concerning AS, and AS Games, apparently it hase something to do with an older case of AS Players and abuse of a Minor, I don´t remember all the details, maybe some of the members that live in Ohio can bring me up to date.

It is always the bad apple the destroys the Pie, and no matter how many good players there are, all it takes is one jerk to do something stupid, and we all fall into that catagory.

Yes I know, its Illegal for anybody to purchase an Airsoft gun in Wisconsin if your under the age of 18. I actually have to have my dad buy ammo for me at Walmart because they do ID checks there... (No I don't use ammo from them anymore) I was getting at more of the point about having a Gun License and Such, but you seemed to have mentioned that also. The thing that bothers me is that airsoft is very similar to Paintball... Yes some people on this forum may take offense to that remark but they are pretty similar to tell you the truth. Paintball guns can look very realistic, well some can, without some of the stuff attached ( I don't play paintball so I don't know what theyre called haha) it could easily be mistaken for a real weapon, but no one gives a s**t about paintball... I think we need to show people that they are very similar sports, it may help airsofts Rep... Heck, I play at a paintball field, the concept of the games is almost Identical with the exeption of Speedball, but again, ive seen airsoft skirmishes based off of speedball. the difference is the ammo, and how some of these guns look. I wish there was some sort of Airsofters Licence. You take a class on airsofting and safety, much like Hunters Safety, and then get a licence which qualifies you to purchase airsoft Weapons and Ammo. It would help to keep idiots from getting them... Now these wouldnt nessesarally apply to all airsoft weapons, just the more realistic ones... I guess ive just kinda blabbed on about ideas and points, so much of this is just the thoughts in my head... Kinda pointless I guess...

Huh, I thought the you had to be 18 was universal...it's required for all the stores ive been to, you have to sign this waiver thing.

0,08J-0,49J Open to all ages.
0,5J-0,99J Open to underage ( Under 18 )
1,0J-6,99J Open to all above 18 without a Gun Registration and Owners Card
7,0J and above requires all Real Steel Legal Requirements, Gun Saftey, Registration and Ownership, Permission from BKA and if it is an Assault Rifle Form, Forget it.

Wow. Its Sh.it like this that gives us airsofters a bad outlook. Stupid Red Necks are shooting people or "Watch your language", not shooting them but pointing AS guns at people and they could have been shot. I mean what if they were shot? They would have made the News and Don't use the Lord's name in vain. knows what could have happened... The da.mn Govinator (Arnold Swarnihshfkjdhsafgklsdkager) could have tried to pass a bill or something Outlawing Airsoft guns in California... I mean seriously. How stupid can some people be?
