G4-A5 DMR replacement

I'm about to sell my beloved G4-A5 DMR...and need a replacement.

Things I didn't like about the DMR:
-Length, little on the long side. Especially since I'm not running a spotter loadout anymore.
-Charging handle did nothing at all, didn't even open the dust flap.
-Outer barrel was all one piece. A pro, somewhat, but it made it impossibly to shorten the barrel for when I wanted to run CQB.

So with those dislikes in mind, what do you recommend?
I don't want to spend more than $240 or so...as I'd like some $ left over for optics.

Might I also say that I'm looking for something for a USMC role...so really I'm looking for the "generic" M4...if there ever was one...
...meaning I don't want any of the "top end" items (ie: crane stock, flipup sights, etc.) as I want to keep true to the actual kit.

Well, the Marine Corps actually does use crane stocks and all that. If you look at some of the vids and pics coming from Marjah, they've got loads of MagPul items on their rifles. The most interesting thing I saw was what looked like a crane stock on a 249.

Bottom line, it's rather rare now to see an M4A1 in the Marine Corps that has the usual M4 stock and all that.

I never said they weren't using crane stocks and such...I'm sure there are guys out there that spent their allowance on em...
...by "generic" M4, I mean the simplistic representation of the gun. Collapsible stock, fixed front sight, etc.

I know, I was just saying the crane stock and all that is a little more realistic to what the Devil Dogs overseas are carrying right now. Do you want an AEG or a GBB-R?
