Hi,
I was wondering if you guys could give me advice.
I'm looking for a good airsoft gun. I was thinking of buying an GR16 Carbine.
Anyone here got that gun and is able to tell me if it's a good buy. I live
in Belgium.
I was thinking of getting my gun in this shop

If you see a better gun on the site for ~the same price, let me now please Smile
Greatz,
Mike

The gun you're looking at, the G&G GR16, is a great gun. I'm highly impressed by G&G's replicas and love to see'em up close b/c of their attention to detail. The GR16 gets great reviews, although I've yet to own/use one myself. I'm sure you'll be happy with the gun.

A small type battery would not be a problem. I prefer large type for the sole reason of me hating changing batteries during long events (a tedious job for my gun). You can still get a 2200 MAH small type battery (although I'm not sure if you can find one that fits your gun) which will last you a long time depending on how trigger-happy you are. Most guns are small-type so you'll be fine!

I'm really new to Airsoft. Only done a war once. But it was with a friends weapon.
Is the FPS ok from this gun? In Europe most have 300~. But when I was reading on this forum I noticed the FPS from some of your AEG's is way higher. Did you twink 'em? And how did you do that. I'm new to the forum and Airsoft, so don't shout at me b'cause I'm asking idiot things Very Happy

Most of the people in this forum have upgraded there guns. They would upgrade the spring, moter, zero trigger, bearings and just about everything else. But don't worry about that yet the gun that you are looking at has great fps stock and it seems like a great gun. The metal body and the steel gears is great because it means its reliable. And if this is going to be your first gun that would be awsome most of us started out with cheap spring guns that only shot like 200 fps. Including me... Very Happy

It really depends on where you go. Some places 300-350 or some others will let snipers up to 500 it really depends.

we don't really have a "max" FPS...only feilds or OP's regulate that.

When your just playing with your team and what not, you could use a 500+ FPS AEG (very rare because it takes a load down on ROF)...

Like they all said, it depends from field to field and event to event. Here's the typical FPS limits you'll find in Ohio:

0 - 400 All Aegs
0 - 450 All support weapons
0 - 500 Semi auto weapons (full auto permanently disabled)
0 - 600 Bolt Action only

Yea it is pretty much useless and stupid to have a 500 + FPS automatic...

Alot of these max limits are just set by physics and strengths of material. The feilds near me though regulate about the same as you said, admin. Only they may only top at 350 for AEG...
