No you can not, my friend has had the same problem. You will either need to find an RIS that..

A) Supports a battery being contained in it, similar to your current handguards on your M4.
B) You need to get a PEQ-2 Box that you can put on your RIS. Then run the cord through it.
C) Get these, http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=5753

You could put a tiny Li-Po in there but what's the point... you'd have to unscrew one half of the RIS every time you wanted to put your battery in or out.

You could get Magpul MOE handguards.

Ugh. iguess I'm going with the ugly little handguard rails. I really wanted a RIS, but it seems to complicated and I really don\'t want to put in that much effort.

complicated for the simple minded perhaps I ended up doing that myself a while ago. getting a rail for my handguards. but i ended up getting an RIS in the end

Same with me, NN2H, I just got an RIS for my KWA M4, then hey three days later it's stolen!

Ok, so with the one Drummer suggested, how do I put it on? Would I have to remove the barrel and slide it, or would I have to just put it on like a normal handguard

It unscrews to two halves like a normal handguard, so you clamp both pieces onto the barrel/delta ring and screw it together.

If you want an upper receiver, im selling one off of my broken m4. it's a G&G pro-line one. It doesn't have the barrel or handguards, just the upper receiver.
