utg l96 upgrades

I have a UTG L96 Spring Airstoft Sniper Rifle, and I am looking for a way to lower my fps to under 400 fps. Also, I am looking for a way to increase my accuracy at longer distances. Any help apriciated

Get a tight bore barrel and an m110 spring. That should do. Also, you could get a metal, or polycarbonate hop up and a new bucking.

why would you want to lower the FPS on a sniper.... but if you do DJ is right on what you would need to do...

He will need a L96 specific spring, the M110 is an AE spring. Your thinking along the right line though DJ.

sorry i didn't know Ohio has an FPS limit...what is the limit?

I knew they had specific springs, because I looked into them for my sniper, but I didn't want to put the effort into finding the name right now.

Ohio's limit if you under 18 is 400FPS no matter what type of gun you are using. I still get my rounds out past 200ft accurately though.

If you are over 18 AEG's can go up to 450 with FA disabled(aka semi only), and sniper can go up to either 500FPS or 600FPS depending on the field that you are playing at.

Oh and indoor play is restricted to 350FPS semi only(in most cases).

thats a very dumb law but i don't think that Michigan has any laws except to have an orange tip to travel but i always keep my orange tip on

Its not a law, its just the rule set for most of the AO (airsoft Ohio) games that I go to.

You might want to check out Michiganairsoft.com if you plan on going to any big games. They have rules about FPS/age/engagement distances also.

Thanks for the site sticks. You wouldnt know of any reputable airsoft stores in the dayton area that fix/ upgrade guns would you?

how wide is the rail on the utg l96 because i have a nice scope but it's for a 3/8 inch dovetail mount, will that fit or are the rails bigger than that?

the taso (texas airsoft organization) rules say that a sniper, semi auto or other, has to be under 450 fps. and a full auto AEG has to be under 400. that just seems dumb! some of the taso rules sound like they were written by someone who's never played airsoft in their life. but luckily those aren't the only tournaments in texas.

No I agree with those rules 100%. Maybe the sniper FPS could be a bit higher, but its still a good call on their part.

yeah i don't like getting blasted by a 500+ aeg in close quarters. I got shot in the head by an ares gas blowback sniper..luckily i'm heard headed, and it hit my cap lol. I agree with the TASO rules. and as durkee said the fps for sniper could be higher because they are not going in close range

well not 500+ but we play with AEGs that shoot about 460 and it's not bad at all.

hello I would like to upgrade my well l96 and i need some information...

i will buy a upgrade kit and i will get a metal spring guide with bearings, spring M160 and metal piston with head. and then i will change a M160 spring with APS M180 Guarder spring(3,35J-600fps 0,20g BBs). do I need to replace inner barel and trigger??
