| I have a friend considering two guns, the Echo 1 E-90 and the Echo 1 DSR(Designated Sniper Rifle) off of PyramidAir.com. Anyone have either of these guns? And are Echo 1's any good? We do both longer range and CQB, so either would work with our team. Thanks. Shinigami | |

| Echo1 is a very good low cost company, and both of those guns mentioned are considered to be very good. The e90, of course, would be for cqb, and the dsr would be more for a rifleman/dm. | |

| Mgunner, echo 1 and JG are not the same gun at all.
JG makes their guns to the specs of their main suppliers, meaning depending on your location determined the quality of JG guns. This is also the reason the prices of JG's vary allot.
Echo 1 has their own standards for their guns. From the JG's I have opened compared to the Echo 1's I have opened I will tell you this. The cylinder set in a Echo is nice than a JG. The one that we had was .02mm closer match to the piston head. This means when you do try to upgrade your gun you wont have to buy a cylinder set and or the spring will produce the expected velocity. Also Echo's hop-ups are much nicer IMO. Finally, a warranty is a huge thing if your gun has a plastic body. Just tripping over a log in the middle of a field can mean a new $40 plastic body, or $100 for a good metal body. Echo's come with a M110, JG's seem to be coming in with an M120 but only get the results of an M115(very limited run spring by systema, almost extinct when I got in the game). This means less accuracy when you use lighter BB's, as well as maybe causing you to skip an event or two because you're shooting too hot.
That is just a few of the things you should look at when considering an Echo or JG. Oh the Hop-up buckings should probably be replaced ASAP, the clone ones are crap. A nice Systema or Prommy will do nicely.

sticks Where would you buy one of those hop ups? My friend Dan told me he looked and he couldn't find anywhere to buy those hop ups. | |

| Well, I'm mostly going to be in the field, so I think that I'll go with the DSR. Any suggestions, upgrades that I should get right away? And if there is a remarkably better gun within, say, $50 would you tell me about it? Thanks for all the input. | |

| im not a big fan about 6 of us have echo1s and they have a poor track record with us 3 out of 6 crap guns ...one example... my friends E90 out of the box had a crap motor and had to send it back.. then he got a replacement and again it broke down the first time he used it... this is time he got an intire replacement gearbox. its seems to be ok now but 1 out of every 5 pellets drops short. if you can afford it get a better quality gun like a CA, KWA, ICS, G&G, or systema.. get this instead.. more money but way better quality... sorry echo fans. im not trying to hate on echo1. i just hate to see someone waste 200.bucks | |
