| Thats what makes it perfect and with the new charging handle type of design it reduces recoil so much. Compared to the 9mm MP5 on 3-round burst the MP5 had the higher muzzle climb compared to the Kriss. | |

| Yes Thompson wasen't considered an SMG until after the STG-44 was invented. The STG-44 is the grand daddy of all assualt rifles, look at the AK-47 see anything simialar? Now that someone mentioned it the Mp5k is one of my favorites. Look at the body designs. STG-44 AK-47 | |

| They resemble because whenever Lieutenant General Mikhail Kalashnikov was wounded on the Russian front and while he designed the Ak 47 in a hospital he worked with C.G. Haenel Waffen Und Fahrradfabrik the designer of the STG 44 . So it was only natural that the famous Kalashnikkov Ak47 would become sort of an STG 44 look alike . The STG 44 was one of Hitlers most favorite weapons of all of the war and it was even Hitler himself who came up with the phrase Assault Rifle or in German terms the Sturmgewehr . Also a lot of our terms in military comes from the Germans like Sharpshooter , Scharfschutze and Assault Troopers , or Storm Troopers , SturmTrupen . But now back to the Assualt rifles . The first was the STG 44 the second and possibly one of the best and most famous was the Ak 47 and the third was one that was discontinued because it was actually too good for what it was designed for and to do and this gun is still in use by the US Military today can anybody guess what it is . PS its not the M16 . | |
