How do you learn how to adjust windage and elevation?

So I heard you have to be good in math. For a spotter you have to tell the sniper how to adjust the scope during a game according to wind yes? Like I hear you have to tell him to adjust his scope, to the right, or up etc.
How do you do that?
Is there a math formula or something?

ah, that, my friend, is called learning your DOPE. DOPE stands for Data On Previous Engagements. DOPE is a sniper's best friend. it is an art, learning how to call DOPE. you do not buy DOPE in a little plastic baggie. no, you buy DOPE from a certified dealer, and that dealer's name is experience. a sniper without DOPE is like a sniper without a rifle. read up on it at your local library, check military field manuals, or ask an actual real-steel spotter.

Mike if you look in one of my older threads titled 'Sniper kill cards' I included information on DOPE and other similar methods. As far as adjusting for range and windage, its all trial and error.

yeah. it's taken me about three hours to get my uncle's .22 sighted in. it takes a long time to get them sighted correctly, but when you hit the right DOPE, all is good, and the accuracy Gods will speak in the form of rounds on target. IT'S ALWAYS WORTH IT TO LEARN YOUR DOPE! (can you tell i enjoy saying DOPE?)
