| Hey all you experts out there, i have a question. i have talked to some of my airsoft savvy friends to ask about how i could up the fps of my gun. the one answer came up, get a better battery. so i did. my gun is currently using a Ni-MH 8.4 volt with 1100mAh. i bought a Ni-MH 9.6 volt with 1600mAh. but here is my problem. i am nervous about putting my new battery into my gun. i just don't want to ruin it by stripping the gears and such... so i come to all you experts! please help me soon cause' i am going into battle and i really would like to know if this upgrade will work soon! thanks! | |

| it won't break them right away if you use full auto in to long bursts it will strip but other wise it just seeds it up a tiny bit. You'll be fine | |

| yeah. upgrading fps is about upgrading spring, piston, gearbox ETC. Upgrading batterys does not increase fps, (correct me if i'm wrong). It just improves the ROF of a gun. | |

| Yes your new battery WILL NOT upgrade your FPS it will only upgrade your RoF. 9.6v Should not have a huge impact on your gearbox ( Depending on the quality of your gun ) It will however cause increased wear and tear on your motor and should upgrade your gearbox eventually anyway to handle long term stress, even if you use the 8.4. - Quote :
- A larger Battery will increase your ROF, burning out the motor is relative,
If you are doing long Ratta Tat Tats, with an 8,4V you are sending a less number of BB´s down Range, by increasing the Battery size you will send more BB´s Down Range in a shorter amount of time, the motor works faster.
It is an improvement in Performance, but with every Improvement made on an AS Gun, the wear and tear is also increased, regardless if it is an improvement of FPS or ROF.

| I personally am not sure if it upgrades the FPS I DO know however it upgrades the ROF from 10-25%. If your going to put that new battery in, make sure you do the following.
1. DO NOT DRY FIRE (You shouldn't be dry firing anyway, especially with that increased ROF it might shred your piston sooner.)
2.DO NOT Fire in full auto constantly. It will hurt a piston in the gear box, and overheat the motor with that battery | |

| That's not a Charger, it is a voltage regulator.
