| i have heard great things about the M16A1VN from CA. i was actually looking towards one my own self, but, the money gods intervened.
also, make sure your buddy gets it with a three prong flash hider. if it's Vietnam he's going for, he can also look into the XM177 (i think CA makes that too) and the M14. if he needs gear, PM me, and i can give you a bunch of websites.

| okay, just making sure. a lot of people don't know there's a difference.
and sniper, if your buddy is going US Army NCO/CO/Radioman, make sure he goes XM177. it was preferred by officers for it 30 round mag and size. if he's going Marine, and his loadout is 1967 or later, he should get M16A1 or M14. if he goes with the M16A1, make sure he gets short mags. the 30 round magazines for the M16A1 were VERY hard to come by In-Country. and if he wants to go really pricey, he can be a Corpsman, and he will need a M79 grenade launcher. i'm just giving you and your friend some options here, sniper32.

| What kit are you looking at making? I have a kitlist for MACV-SOG somewhere around here.
There were other rifles used in the war, also as a foot note: the xm177a1 and a2 both were issued with the 20rnd mags.
