| DJ, no offense but thats not a USMC rig at all.... Thats a cheap copy of a RRV, which can be a USMC rig but it doesn't look close too an RRV at all. Evike lies about allot of their Gear products. Jarhead, the ALICE gear that they used in desert storm was called LC1 gear(I believe, could be LC2), basically its the stuff with the black buckles. You can find it at any surplus store in the US. For a Don't use the Lord's name in vain. kit you will need -Y or H suspenders -ALICE belt -2 Canteen pouches(small sized, not the 2qt) -4+ mag pouches -1 gasmask pouch -Woodland Interceptor vest -1 medium utility -choco chip(aka 6 color) BDU's -PASGT with 6 color helmet cover -1 medium rucksack -1 medium ALICE frame -1 medium buttpack -black boots(the old academy boots would be the best, but any black boot will look good) ***All ALICE gear should be OD. Also, no pic reference, good images sucks . Thats just the base, I'm sure I am missing something. I'll look into it for you. sticks | |

| I stand corrected on the vest. I do that the SoF and Rangers used the Interceptor's(not the refined IBA's) during the gulf, I just assumed that everyone had one. Also I found some reference pics on MP.net, and it looks like some of the guys had 6 color PASGT vests, not the woodland ones that I thought they had. I don't know if you will be able too find a 6 color PASGT, so I would give the green light too go with the woodland ones(I know both army and USMC used woodland PASGT/Interceptor's during desert shield). The canteen looks like its a M56 gas mask, which is Nam' period gear. I would look for a Lc1(or Lc2 if you cannot find a Lc1) mask bag. Then again it may just look too faded in the pic. I cannot find any info on what mask they wore, but I do know that the the mk17 mask was developed in the late 60's.... It makes sense that they would not have changed the mask as we didn't really expect chem warfare after the UN ban... From the movie references, that are probably wrong, the GI's look like they have either a draw string style bag or a hard cover. Then again the Hollywood also had Bob Lee Swagger cycling a Barret M107, so my references could be wrong! I believe all the ALICE gear used by normal US forces were OD, and I can't believe that Black would ever work good in the light . IMO OD is the safest way too go. You can mix LC1 and LC2 gear, but you may need too attach it with Zip ties or MALICE clips(look them up on tacticaltailor.com). Allot of the guys ended up doing this anyways because the ALICE clips tend too dig into the skin after awhile. I have also heard of people using 550 paracord and wrapping that around the ALICE clips. The mags shouldn't be a problem, as the ALICE mag pouches are pretty large. Utility: http://www.armynavydeals.com/asp/products_details.asp?SKU=BG209&ST=2I believe thats all! Good luck with the kit, it shouldn't be too much. It all depends on the vest, if you don't get the vest you are looking at $150ish. But believe me the end product is well worth the money. sticks | |

sticks well, i think back in Storm, they used M17 masks for the most part, and some MCU-2/Ps may have been used as well. the canteen i showed was actually a M17 gas mask bag. i've looked all over for PASGT vests, and i'm beginning to think they were a failed project or the military still has them all, because it is "Watch your language" hard to find them. i was also surprised about the Black-on-Six-Color. that just didn't seem like it would work, but the guy who told me was an outfitter at a Police supply/Army-Navy store. i did order some basic stuff last night, just some LC-1 Y-suspenders, a pistol belt, a grenade pouch with two dummies, a canteen and cover, and a helmet cover. | |
