| i reposted this in this section because nobody was replying to it in the AEG upgrades section. anyway.
ok i was thinking. i have a crappy double eagle m85 sitting around. would it be worth it to take it and upgrade it with a metal gear box and change the mag chamber so that i can take other brand mags as well? (it will only take double eagle mags) just something i was thinking about randomly. what do you think? this gun is like 200 fps maybe even less. the frame is full plastic etc. is it even worth it? or should i just buy all the components and start from scratch? i.e. custom barrels upper lower receivers etc. | |

| INHO it is not worth the money or the effort, and to add a little more gas to the fire, SYSTEMA GB´s are way overpriced, and a complete was of money, you can build a better GB for half the price. | |

| I still say it would be bettr to save your cash until you have enough for a Better level gun. Dropping a Metal box may improve your FPS, but the inner barrel will have to be replaced, new wiring, Hop-Up Buckling, Nubbing, Motor, when you get done you could buy a good entry level gun for the amount that you have invested. But Hey, thats just me | |

| the version 3 gearbox i found is 49.99 with the motor include. inner barrel and wiring is easy to replace. also hop up wouldnt be too much as well. but this is just a theory. i probably wont even do it. just a curiousity | |

| If you still want to upgrade you could go to one of the boneyards on airsoftGI or Evike. you coulld buy a broken gun and salvage it for parts. | |

| true. but there is no gurantee that most of the parts will be 100% working. i would rather pay for something that i know what works etc. instead of paying for something that is an iffy kind of deal. its a chance i don't want to take | |

| yeah, but some are sold simply because they are missing a part. If that part is not something you need, then you can get everything you need. | |

| It's true; I ordered a Thompson off www.Kapowwe.com Boneyard for FORTY DOLLARS and they sent me a brand new working perfect Thompson with just a few scratches and a missing buttplate. On a side note; if you're looking into AK's Echo 1 has produced a line of Affordable Blowback AK AEGs. | |
