| hey guys, i am trying knock down my kjw mk1 carbine to be at a playable 400 fps (or slightly below). Right now my gun is using stock parts and green gas and I am shooting at 475 fps (with .28 gram pellets). I initially wanted to buy duster gas but I wasn't able to find any on the website I initially bought my gun on. My next step is to buy a chronograph and duster gas and see what my gun shoots at, but I'm sure it will still be above 400 fps. I was curious if anyone here has a kjw mk1 carbine and has been able to get it's fps to adhere to typical airsofting fps limits for a semi auto gun (I am assuming the typical fps limit for a semi is 400 fps, since that's what the rules were last time I went airsofting w/ random players (I haven't been airsofting much)). I really like my gun and I am looking to mod it until I can use it in airsoft games. Last time I went airsofting I was forced to use my pistol because I was over the fps limit. Any info would help me greatly.
I think I read somewhere online about a person who owned the same gun was able to regulate his fps using a "regulator". I haven't been able to figure out what this is, but I am definetly interested. | |

| I have also been looking for a silencer for my carbine, just to add a little more interest in it's look. I don't know much about threading or how to mod my carbine to use one, so I have been looking for some sort of silencer kit which will give me all that I need to add a silencer to my gun. I haven't had much luck with that. The only thing that I have found related to a silencer and the kjw mk1 is an adapter, which can be found on this German website http://hardballshoppen.dk/product_info.php?products_id=10433That doesn't exactly help me out too much though since I can't read anything. | |

| well, that's the problem, i'm not exactly sure what I need. I will look in to it though, thanks for the help. I am not desperate enough for a silencer to make a cheesy cardboard silencer. If i am going to do it, I am going to spend the money for exactly what I want and do it right. | |

| you guys are awesome. I would think that the adapter would probably be illegal on some fields because it would allow the player to chrono the gun prior to the game at a low, playable velocity, and then once on the field the player could crank up the velocity and nobody would know any better since they think he is shooting at a lower fps. It would be an asshole thing to do, but it seems to me that the rule might be for that reason. | |

| easy to do, if you don't mind it being there permantly, do this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYvsFJG78f4but instead of putting a BB there, cut some of the spring off, just a little bit, not even half a loop, and then chrono it, keep going until you hit the lowest you want, you can always put it back up by putting something in there with it. | |

| cool, i didn't even consider doing that. It does make sense though, since you can increase the fps by adding a pellet under the spring, then that means cutting off part of the spring and decreasing the pressure will do the exact opposite, and lower the fps. | |

| Ive done it, used to shoot at a cool 760 fps with .2s, now its RIGHT on 550. And now you can use green gas, there is one side effect though, crazy gas effenciancy | |
